Course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent for a Friday morning. Cant wait to come back

Monroe CC is a gem! I try and play there every time I get out. Greens are always in great shape and for the money you just can’t beat it.

Everything was above par. Highly recommend this course. All was 5 stars except the greens had just been verticut. Try it out.

First time playing this course. We all, foursome, enjoyed the course and look forward to playing again. Very fast greens.

For starters, the Greens were terrible. Looked okay from a distance but were 45% spray paint. Greens rolled extremely fast. Played Emerald Lake the weekend prior and i'd say Monroe's greens were twice as fast. Staff was decent. Went to Tee off at 1 but starter was no where to be found. If from Matthews, Charlotte, Stallings, etc. not worth the drive.

Pace of play was wonderful. Four hour round and the two of us were paired up with another twosome. I couldn’t believe the pace of play was so great on a warm, sunny, winter day when everyone was out playing. Greens are true and in amazing shape.

The course was extremely wet. There was a lot of rain over the past week, but drainage was very poor. The greens were in great condition despite how soaking wet the fairways were.

The greens at Monroe Country Club continue to be some of the best in the area. The layout is great with 2 very different 9’s. The fairway bermuda is going dormant now but it’s still good. But it’s the greens that continue to impress. Very fair price for a great golf experience.

Probably best greens in the area. Approach shot is a good challenge too.

Staff was very nice. Greens were in great condition. Donald Ross was ahead of his time in design. (He got the best of me a couple times )

I’ve been playing golf consistently for just this year. But I play twice a week all summer. My first time at Monroe and these greens and pin placements were out of control difficult. Nice course but I wouldn’t make the drive to get my backside kicked again!!

Based on the reviews I made the long drive to Monroe country club to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The only negative was the lack of any real food and beverage operations. The course was fantastic! A classic old-school Carolina style golf course in very good shape perfect greens. Highly recommend!

I really like the course. I know its an older style layout...the BACK 9 is great but the front 9 has over grown trees hanging all over the fairways...plz trim the trees on the front 9. Then it would be a solid 9 out of 10. Great greens.

This course is fantastic! I can't wait to play it again! I will tell everyone about it! Kudos to everyone that keep that course in awesome shape. The greens are some of the best that I've seen!

First time playing Monroe CC and was very impressed. Conditions overall were very good, aside from the bunkers which didn't appear to have been groomed in some time. Classic old school design that you don't find in the Charlotte area very often. The first nine Donald Ross greens as always are challenging, especially when missed (or hit) in the wrong place. Very much look forward to returning again.
