River Bend YMCA Golf Course

Had a great time hitting the balls into the water.

Fairways and roughs in good condition. Sand traps need deep raked. Greens medium speed, rolled true, did not hold the approach shot. Very busy.

River Bend is the best value in public golf that you will find. I paid $48 on a Friday morning (I think its 41 Monday thru Thursday and 65 Saturday and Sunday) and I would have been happy paying twice that much for the course I got. River Bend has become known for how good their greens are, and they are some of the best anywhere. But with a little help from mother nature and a wet June, the rest of the course is in terrific shape right now too. Tees, fairways both in great condition. The bunkers had been raked and were in good shape, which is very rare these days. I am lucky to live 10 minutes away and get to play here regularly. The layout is fun, I wouldnt say its anything special, but but its a good challenge for your average golfer, and have fun with holes 8 and 17! LOL. If you can get here to play. Go play here.

WE like to play this course as many times we have a chance. Great conditions overall. A little slow pace of play.

Wonderful golf course. The tee boxes and greens were in excellent condition. We loved the layout. Used most of the clubs in the bag. First time, but not the last. A good value for the money.

Course is continuing to upgrade and maintain. Always seems to be in good shape.

Greens were about as good as you can find anywhere and perfect shape. Traps were raked and in great condition as well (plenty of sand in them).

Overall, due to recent rain, the course was path only but even with the moisture, fairways were not soggy at all. Course drains pretty well.

The course layout was easy to follow as a first timer. Very few blind shots overall. The course is not very friendly in its setup for seniors or women. The tee boxes for women were often just 5 yards ahead of the senior tees. Both setup meant that a good drive still left 150 yards or more to the green. I would recommend building some tee boxes to make the course more friendly to seniors and women the course handled the heavy rains from earlier in the week very well. The greens were excellent.

Even though River Bend has increased their prices recently (like almost every course in the country) this is still one of the best values you can find. The greens are the best you will find anywhere. It doesnt matter where you look, the greens here are better. They are so smooth and quick. The rest of the course is in good shape as well. The fairways and tees are just starting to come in and green up. The layout is challenging and interesting enough to keep your interested and keep your attention. The staff in wonderful. Very friendly and unlike many places in golf, act like they are glad to have you there. If you are within an hour drive and can get here I would highly recommend this round. I will say it stays relatively busy, so if you play on the weekend, be ready for a pretty slow round.

We take an hour drive for this nice course. Great conditions a and a pleasant layout. The greens are awesome, good size and rolling perfect. As well the fairways are in great shape. We have seen the way they work the greens and the sand traps and was nothing less than Hilton Head resort... Maybe a little more pride!

Beautiful golf course! Very nice layout!! Greens are perfect, fairways, bunkers, tee boxes are great! Nice clubhouse, golf merchandise, snack bar, sandwiches, drinks, driving range , putting practice green, great staff of people working there. Very enjoyable golf course to play!
