The 18-hole Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club in Sunset Beach, North Carolina is a public golf course that opened in 1987. Designed by Dan Maples, Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club measures 6503 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 119 and a 71.6 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bent and the fairways are bermuda.

The Dan Maples designed layout is a real treat. The regular tees are situated to afford the average player an enjoyable round of golf with scoring opportunities. From the back tees, Sandpiper Bay will challenge the best of low handicappers. 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's await your arrival.

Enjoy the round and the day. The course was in nice shape with decent greens. My wife and I were paired with another couple. They had played the course many more times than us and were helpful and friendly. Will play again.

always enjoyable experience

course never fails to be enjoyable. fairways more than decent. greens were in good shape but somewhat slow.. greens are deceptive with more contours that meets the eye. only drawback to course is some of the cartpaths are really bumpy..played piper to bay. I do like the 3 par 3's and 3 par 5's that allow a short hitting senior to scre well.

Greens roiling well but wet fairways

It had not rained in a few days but areas of the fairways were very wet. Seems like overwatering caused by sprinkler system. Greens were in very good shape.

Interesting course

We enjoyed the course and found it to be not too challenging. Staff were very cheerful and helpful - especially considering that we played there on Thanksgiving day. The only negative is that the cart paths very much need to be repaved. Driving around the course was quite jolting on most holes.
