PIPER & BAY
I played Piper & Bay. First time playing the. Bay 9, Other that cold/windy, it was a great day on the course. Enjoyed the layout of the course, and some tough pin placements!
Great course!
Generous fairways! A treat to play! I’m from out of town and I would return to play again
Why rush???
Love the course
Played Thursday and Saturday.
9:15 - 30 times
Each time starter rushes is out earlier and we get to 1st hole which is a par 5 and we have to wait 12 min to tee off
There were 4 foursomes on the same hole and the round was backed up all day
Not a ranger in sight
When we returned after the 18 holes there wasn't anyone waiting to play.
Not sure why they were in a rush to get people out?
Other than having to wait 5 min per hole and having the foresome behind us driving up on us every tee shot.
Course was very good.
Course A, Pro Shop A, Starters F
While on a recent trip to NC I got the chance to play all 3 nine hole courses at Sandpiper Bay.
The courses are in excellent condition, with well-maintained fairways, true-rolling greens, and nicely groomed bunkers.
The overall presentation and upkeep of the course are impressive.
The pace of play was fantastic - we never felt rushed but also had no long waits, which made for an enjoyable round.
The pro shop staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient in getting us checked in.
However, I must mention an issue with the starters that significantly detracted from the experience. Their only role seemed to be loading our bags onto the carts, yet their behavior was problematic. Two starters, in particular, stood out: Billy came across as unnecessarily sarcastic and unhelpful when we had questions. More concerning was Charlie, whose presence felt intrusive, and he made multiple not-so-subtle hints for tips. This behavior went beyond typical course etiquette and made us quite uncomfortable. It's disappointing that a staff member whose only job is to load bags onto carts would engage in such persistent tip-seeking behavior. This approach felt inappropriate and put a damper on what should have been a relaxing day of golf. Despite these issues with the starters, the excellent course conditions and otherwise smooth operations would likely bring me back next year.
I sincerely hope management addresses this situation to ensure all guests can enjoy their golfing experience without feeling pressured or uncomfortable. The course itself is top-notch, but the starter situation needs improvement to match the quality of the facilities.
Great Course
Nice fairway grass, good greens, excellent course layout. Cart paths need some work in many locations.
Great Course
Very good course, fairways and greens very good, pace of play could be better, very crowded.
Great Condition
This course is always in good condition with a very friendly staff. Depending on the tees you play, can be challenging.
Love this course
We come here every year and really enjoy playing this course. It’s in great shape. Layout is interesting. Perfect for intermediate golfers like me who play only once a week. Not too difficult, which is good for intermediate players like me. The staff is super friendly. They keep the pace of play going which I really like
Course was great, weather was HOT!
Very friendly staff, pace of play was good, despite the heat and humidity. Course was in great shape as always.
Great value
Started off with a very friendly and helpful staff. Never waited or had players waiting on us. Layout is real fun , not extremely challenging. Conditions were good. Highly recommend playing at Sandpiper.
Pace of play
Really enjoyed the course. We played Puper and Bay. Great track. )The first nine was under 2 hrs. and the 2nd nine was almost 3? Seems like a sliw 4some jumped ahead of the group in front of them.Overalll it was a great day of golfing with my family, just wished the pace of play was constant. Thank you! Staff was also great!
