Fair course
The greens were great. The course is fair and you can really score well if you keep it in the fairway.
Gators gallore
Spring time greens were a bit bumpy. Course is very interesting with a double water carry ands other hole a risk reward dogleg over a protected marsh. Warm air and cold water brought out the gators, fun!!
Easter Bunny Special
Played 14 holes before the heavens opened up. Just my wife and I enjoying our Easter present. Love the course!
great overall experience
First time playing this course, but will definitely be back. Great shape and some very challenging holes. Tested you as much as you wanted to be tested as far as course layout. (Do I go for this spot in the fairway or that one?) Thanks
Nice Course
Very nice course, look forward to playing the other 9 in the near future.
crazy canuck
One of the best condition course I've played lately, from tee to green awesome, flush fairways, , greens rolling fast and consistent throughout the round, must play it
Sandpiper
Nice layout, excellent greens, friendly staff and good conditions. Will put it on our list of courses to play again.
from PGA Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your review, we look forward to having you play here again. Our mini verde greens are some of the best in the entire area.
Beauitiful track, would recommend to anyone looking for something in Southern NC
Course did just have top dressing done but It did not affect putting, course was in amazing shape, I just wish I had found it earlier in my trip.
As a single paired up with 3 others 2 of which were from my local haunt, course played fair and was well maintained. Pace was a little slow in which we waited almost every shot but it moved and the weather was spectacular so no complaints. Be realistic when choosing the tees and you will have a fun round.
Clubhouse staff was efficient and friendly, food at the turn was good (hotdog and sandwich is tough to screw up though, but was ready to go).
Will return for sure.
from PGA Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - we appreciate your comments and hope to see you again soon! We offer great replay rates for the other 9 holes we have.
not enough golf carts
I was forced to wait almost 90 minutes to tee off due to the course not having sufficient carts due to overbooking. This in uncalled for. Counter staff made no apology and refused to reimburse me. I will never play this course again!
from PGA Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick - Sandpiper Bay has 100 golf cars and during busy season customers may wait up to 15 minutes for their car to be ready. Our afternoon cars come from the morning once customers complete their round. We offer free range balls prior to your round. We use two hour turns so the wait is not long and pace of play is acceptable for the time of year.
Great golf course and staff
As always, this course was in great shape despite all the rain lately. Greens were plush and rolled very well. Fairways were wet in spots but with all the rain lately, nothing you could do about that. The course delivered a great day as always and the staff always delivers a great experience. Would highly recommend to any one at any level of skill.
from PGA Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your kind words, we are very proud of our recent renovations, stop back anytime!
Enjoyable experience
I booked a HotDeal for at Sandpiper Bay. Arrived early and got on the course early. We were offered the opportunity to use the range to warm up which was a nice touch. Overall course conditions were very good. Will play there again.
from PGA Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your review. Range balls are always offered before your round and are included in the cost of the green fee. Come back soon!
Great conditions for this time of year
Greens have been treated with the green paint/fertilizer but esthetically pleasing and putted very well for February . I booked a hot deal as a single and they had no place to put me and got sandwiched between 2 threesomes neither of which asked me to join them .,starter seemed overwhelmed trying to juggle the 3 nines... however a challenging design with decent fairway turf and put table greens
Pleasantly Surprised
The course was fairly dry compared to most of the courses in the area. Only three holes were cart path only. Greens in good shape, there is a lot of water and the staff is friendly. Three hour round on a Saturday un heard of in this area.
from PGA Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your review. We recently completed a major renovation with all new drainage around our greens and in the bunkers. Come back anytime and play!
Fun stuff?!!??
Had a fun time, course pretty wet but enjoyed the layout. Greens are what? Look and play like carpeting....not so much fun.
Great greens
Went as a single as I am a Canadian snowbird with a non golfing spouse. Arrived 45 minutes early and was paired with a local and 2 other birds.
Greens are excellent although the course is wet due to all the rain it is playable. I am a 15 handicap and p,ayes the forward tees as there is no roll on the fairways. Great deal at $30.00
Enjoyable and pleasant suprise for early January
Four of us played the Bay and Piper and we were surprised the course was in such good condition for this time of the year. Also the fact it was not limited to cart path only despite all the rain. Will definitely return here again. Had played before, but this is the first time for the Bay course which we all enjoyed.
All of the staff we dealt with were excellent.
from PGA Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for playing our course. We recently completed a major renovation with new green side drainage and in the bunkers. Come back and check out the Sand 9.
Great Bunkers and Greens
Played here for the first time on Sunday. Played the Piper and Bay courses. Very wet so it was CPO. Still played in about 4 1/4 hours. Would have been faster but two groups ahead of us were some very slow walkers. Greens were excellent and so were the two bunkers in which I landed. Nice layout.
Sand course
We love this course and it is a regular choice for us. They are currently doing major maintenance (redoing bunkers, sodding the rough)and this is interfering with the "normal" conditions. I would not play a money game at this time on this course. Otherwise, go for it!
Nice course at a good value
Have now played four rounds at this course in the past three months. Challenging but fair. 27 holes provides some variety in round played from one time to the next. Friendly staff.
from PGA Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - we are glad you enjoyed the gators, they enjoy the sunshine as much as we do!
