MetroWest Golf Club

About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Lots of fun, but tee times are too close together
Love this course, just wish they gave more time between tee off. Everyone is playing up on each other.
A little weedy, but OK otherwise!
Course was in decent playable condition. Need to take care of the weeds permeating the fairways, but overall course was good.
Much better than last time
Had been a few years since I played here. Lots of good things are happening. The last time it seemed that it was on its death bed. Very enjoyable.
Not bad
Not a bad course, especially for the price. Some of the tee boxes left a little to be desired and not on the top tier of courses in the area- but solidly in the middle of the pack
Decent course
Its always fun to play here. It seems that the management has their challenges. The pro shop got reduced dramatically.
Great Course Back to Great Shape
I first played this Metrowest over 15 years ago and loved the challenge plus bonus of several holes of elevation change, a rarity in Florida. After staying away for a while because of reading that the course had fallen into disrepair, I booked an early Saturday tee time after seeing several reviews that the course had gotten back into nice shape. I’m so glad I came back! The greens were truly awesome, especially for this extremely hot summer, and the fairways/rough were mostly in great shape as well. The staff was mostly nice too, especially the bartender and the gentlemen at the bag drop. Great job to the Metrowest team for bringing an Orlando gem back into shape. I will be back!!!
Good place way over booked
I absolutely love this golf course; its layout is one of my favorites! The course conditions have been improving, which is great to see. However, a 5 1/2 hour round is quite excessive, and I believe it stems from overbooking. If this continues, it may deter visitors from returning.
I also think the menu inside could use some enhancements to match the quality of the course.
A special shout-out to the wonderful staff—Nick, Sasha, Grace, Lily, Francesca, and the chef—who consistently provide excellent service and make the experience more enjoyable. I just hope upper management can address the overbooking issue to ensure a more pleasant experience for everyone.
Thanks Clark
Keeps getting better
A few years ago, MetroWest did a renovation and redid the fairways and greens. Overall, the course is in pretty good shape, although a few of the T boxes are burnt up. The greens rolled true and were pretty quick. Overall, it's a good value for the money.
Worth playing again!
It’s been a long wait, but Metrowest is finally in nice shape again! Only the tee boxes needed a little love. Good value for the money!
Your average florida course
Just your average florida course. Some interesting holes, some not so much. Several hidden traps and hazards that cant be seen from your approach shot, so check your GPS app.
Greens were very slow - starter told us that was to keep them alive during the upcoming (predicted) very hot weather. Can’t blame them for that. Nothing about his course, except the ninth hole (i uploaded a picture) stands out in my mind.
Cost was only $47, so for that price it is a very good deal. If you came to florida to play exceptional course in the summer, in my mind, this isn’t it. If you came to play courses that are a bargain for the price, this might be for you.
Meh - as my grandkids would say
this is what i would call an average course - some interesting holes, some not so much. Greens were very slow, but as the starter said, they are longer to keep them alive during the upcoming hot weather, so understandable. Fairways were OK, most of the tees were OK.everything was OK. Pace of play was good, played in about 3:45 early in the AM.
We didn't find any water on the course, which was the major complaint. For the money, about $45 it was a good deal, so if your looking for a place to play that has some fun holes and doesn’t cost a lot, this is a good place. If your looking for a top notch course to play while in Orlando and don't mind paying for it (double or triple what this cost) i suggest you look elsewhere.
Very nice except for one thing
Metrowest was in good shape and a great value. Only issue was the first guy you come I contact with had a bad attitude and very rude. He was at bag drop off. He was rude when we arrived and rude when we left. I had not seen him there before.
Great Value
Metrowest is a great value. Conditions are good and greens are true. Pace was slow due to a 3 some holding people up. Hitting from wrong tees for their level of play. One thing really was bad. When pulling up to drop clubs off, the gentleman there was rude to everyone. Used to be folks there that helped everyone. This guy was rude when we arrived and more rude when we finished. He will chase business away.
Nice value fun course
Looking for a place to play down in Orlando. Found this on GolfNow. It lived up to all the reviews and expectations.. nice wide open fairways not a lot of trouble not a lot of water comes into play. A great course I will be back and I’ll probably bring my wife. It’s a course that she would enjoy.
Great day!
Everything here was great, greeted by the bag guys pleasantly, check in was easy, started pretty close to my tee time, pace of play was good, bev cart was there when you needed it. Pretty classic course layout which you would expect on a RTJ, Sr. Course. Would definitely play again!
phenomenal golf course!
By far hands-down, the best golf course I have played, the most challenging. Long par fives, awesome par 4’s & 3’s. I loved the layout! especially when you go to house 12 to 15, you feel that you have gone to another golf course and then come back to the last two 17 and18. Very cool indeed! Conditions were great, and the staff in the pro shop were very friendly!! We’ll play here again if I find a good deal since it’s a little bit out of my area. Would recommend this golf course to anybody! Can’t stop bragging about it!
Well maintaied course
Challenging layout with a variety of key boxes. Green smooth but a bit slow. Fairways and very good shape. No ball washes. However, on the course, pace of play was very good it's fair game. Will enjoy playing this course again
