MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

It’s OK
This course was not as good as I would’ve expected, tee boxes and fairways were in rough shape but had fun.
My experience at this course
Love the lay out but because of its condition is why I didn’t rate this course very well. Greens are good but they didn’t cut the grass on the back 9 and all the tee boxes were in terrible shape. Warning not worth the price of 62 bucks.
Neglected Course
Unacceptable conditions for the price. Warmed up at the worst driving range I’ve ever hit at and unfortunately the course wasn’t any better. The tee boxes hardly have any turf and are very bumpy. Nearly Impossible to play ball down in the fairways. Greens were slow and bumpy. Cart paths deteriorated. It’s a shame the course is so neglected because it’s a cool layout.
US OPEN VENUE?
I enjoy playing at MetroWest Golf Club however, the back nine today on 12, 13 and 14 were horrible! High weeds, very thick and unkept rough. I didn't get the memo for this years US Open or a new Open Championship venue! The staff is very professional and helpful. Please guys...cut the grass!
Bad bad bad condition
This course has gone from bad to worse. Weeds, bare spots, and wet spots covered most if not all of the course. Greens were uneven and bumpy. It is a shame that the course is charging that much money to play basically a cow pasture…..
Nice course fairways need some work
The fairways need alot of work. Some of them look like they have not been cut in a while
What happened to this place
My husband and I played this course not even even two ago and the course was beautiful. We returned to the area excited to play it again only find it now resembles a cow pasture. The fairway....well let's just say, "What fairways?" The greens were fair but their losing many of them. The pace of play was good, but probably because who wants to actually play this course. Overall, great practice course for newbies to the game.
Metro West
I last played this course probably 28+ yrs ago. Its a nice tract, the greens were good, but the rest needs some TLC. GolfNow price was great and for that price its worth playing. Don't expect pristine conditions. Play the course as it is. Hit your ball, move it to a place that has better grass and hit it again. Hopefully mgt will put some money into growing grass on fairways and tees and it can be the course it once was.
Bad
This course is going downhill, again. The course looks awful, the fairways are beginning to resemble a pasture again. Hole information signs are long gone, no stakes and rope to steer carts away from sensitive areas. Just a dull, depressing place to play. I'm pretty sure it's not the greenskeeper's fault. I was told there's not enough money being provided to maintain the course. Which means the owner should try his hand at something else.
On top of that you have people coming to play who have no idea what they're doing, no course etiquette and no one does anything about it. People just drive their carts all over the place, around the green, etc killing the grass.
Just as much blames goes to golfers. You have a duty to help protect and maintain the course. Cart paths, barriers and signage are there for a reason.
Not so great
I’m a huge fan of this course layout but it’s lacking a lot of maintenance. The fairways were patchy, boxes the same, the greens were super slow. The place is too nice to not be taken care of but that’s what had happened.
Metro West
Tee boxes were not in the best of shape and there was an awful lot of mowed grass in the fairways and the fairways need a lot of water
Great value for money if you are not a country club golfer
Can't beat the discounted fees of $27. Special lower green fees during spring areation and sanding of the greens. Budget golf at its best. Rough fairways, sandy greens, but love the low fees.
Nice course!
The course itself is beautiful. I have a couple of small complaints from my own personal experience that day. First, the course signage needs improvement. I found myself on the wrong tees because signage wasn't clear enough to fallow. Furthermore, they only have one total yardage. I didn't know if it was for white, blue, or red tees. Second, a crew member on the 16 or 17 hole started the mower right when I was swinging and messed up my shot. Other than that, the course is beautiful and well maintained. I like the underground tunnels going to some of the greens.
