Needs some serious TLC
Tee boxes were okay but the fairways and rough were in horrible condition.
This course tests your accuracy
This course demands that you hit the ball so it lands on the fairway or the first kind of rough because there are trees that will force you to punch the ball out into the fairway. The greens are small and are hard to read so your putting game has to be on point. I enjoyed the challenge that this course provides.
Course That Could
Great staff, view, and pace of play. Downside: ran out of carts and no food after 2:00 pm (maybe 3:00 pm) on. Friday. Could be an amazing course and better experience.
Huh? But, All The Holes are Straight Shots!
That guy in the Beatnik Hat and Plaid colorful pants is Jordan, been coming in early for 15 years, watching the Sun come up, over the San Gabriel Mountains. Friendlessness, golf Staffer I've come across, and he love his job, although, He'll never be a millionaire. Thank you Jordan...
Now, I loved playing this course, but...if I am objective...This is a Municipal Golf course in poor condition.
It's just as you get into the foothills of Altadena, and it's HOT!
Every hole is straight, so there is no challenge, as far as position your ball on more challenging courses. Only the 9th hole has a slight dog leg.
All that being said, I would play this course, everyday if I could, and you'll want to too! So come on out and meet Jordan.
Not bad
Good course. Challenging holes. Greens are horrible. Like a sponge or something and usually not mowed. But the holes are a good challenge and staff is awesome.
Quality 9 holes
This is one of the better kept courses considering the drought. Perhaps the recent rains helped but overall the course was in good shape. A couple of the greens could have use a little mowing and upkeep but overall it was a good course. We were stuck behind a group of three foursome that slowed down our play with no marshals in sight...
Great Course
Loved the course! I wish I knew it was a 9hole that you play twice ahead of time, I just opted to play a different set of tees to "switch" it up a little bit. All in all a great course though, hidden in a quiet little neighborhood.
Great little gem
Altadena GC is a great little muni with nice views of the mountains and a grass driving range! New management has done a great job of fixing the tee boxes on holes 2 and 9 and lengthening both holes as well. #9 was originally a par 5 then 4 and is back to a 5 again. The overall maintenance is improved and they are putting in cart paths. An easy course to walk too!
