No Mashall through out the course
Good fairway condition through out the course considering drought season but, no mashall was found to push slow players at all.
Great course!!
I love the course and the staffs!
However last Sunday , they let 2 minors go out with out adult supervision to keep the pace and Golf etiquette be observed at round! Every one pays the green fee to enjoy a good Sunday Golf . They should learn little more about Golf etiquette first!!!
Pace of play
I’ve played here before when the pace of play was terrible (lots of fivesomes). Wasn’t horrible this time. Completed the round in 4.5 hours. Love playing Santa Anita due to being close to my home.... will
Needs a starter if they intend to use split tees
Course in very good condition. Still a few places on the fairways that need help. Over all, however, very good condition. Played the front 9 in about 2 hours. When we made the turn, we were amazed to find another group on the tee box. Seems the clerk inside had started this group on the back 9, since the front 9 was backed up. I’m told they do this all the time. Unfortunately, they do this without regard for any group making the turn. This slowed down our back 9 and to a less enjoyable experience. They really need a starter if they intend to start groups on the 10th Tee.
Pace was slow. Group in front of us fell two holes behind on back nine. No marshals to police the course
Holiday pace
The staff was friendly . Practice mats are ok. Definitely need newer range balls.
Tee boxes and greens are nice as most courses are this time of year. Considering were still in a drought the fairways are playable.
Really slow I think one or two ambassadors would really help solve the slow play.
The pace was slow but to be fair it was the day after Christmas so it was expected to be slow. However, this course allow too many groups of five so the slow pace was contributed by management. Always a trip to see 6-8 foot mounds in the middle of fairways. One of the few courses that can penalize you for hitting in the middle fairways. Greens were in good shape. Because this course has no course marshal, the group ahead of us drove up to the greens on every hole, even par 3s, completely ignoring the cart direction signs. May even have driven on the greens on a few holes. Very poor etiquette.
Difficult
I'm an average golfer. Either it was a difficult course or I had one of those bad days. Greens are fast hard. Must plant your ball on the green or they will roll off. Super hilly. Hard to predict where and how your ball will lie. Over all must play this course again to get a better score.
Not worth the $
I've played this course three times in the past 8 weeks. Overall, I've been playing this course for over 15 years. It was once my go-to course. Simply put, the conditions do not warrant playing here for any price, much less $45 on a Wednesday. There isn't a rough, it's dirt. The fairway landing areas are either bald or have impossibly tight lies. Greens and boxes are just ok. Way too many better courses within the same distance for $10+ less to consider golfing here.
Great Course and Wide Open
Needs more water! Brown in some spots. Somehow front desk had trouble finding our reservation from Golf Now?
Well kept greens
The greens were well kept, and the flags stratigically placed. However, the conditions of the fairways were well kept at all
6 hour round
They send people right after a tournament which makes the day to be around 6 hours. To me, this is not acceptable. Never coming back.
Not For The Weekend
This review is purely for anyone looking to play on the weekend. Most public course play slow on Sat and Sun, but this course in particular is having some pace of play issues, likely because of the sheer volume of golfers. It took 3+ hours for the first 9, then when we got to the turn there were 12 people on the tee in front of us. Three of our foursome gave up and went home. Pace is fine during the week. Greens were nice.
Terrible shape
The course is very dry.It need to be watered bad. Terrible lies in the middle of the fairway. The greens were very slow and lots of ball marks. Not worth the money. Stater put out a twosome in front of us on number 10, Play was already slow. I won’t be back soon.
