Santa Anita Golf Course

I’ve played at Santa Anita many times over the years. The staff is friendly and the course is flat, well manicured and easy to walk. This is the second time I’ve played there in 6 months and both times the round took SIX HOURS. When I played this past Sunday I had a 10:31 tee time. We teed off at 11 after they called 5 or so groups under the same name. Oh and did I mention that the group ahead of us was a five some? Nice course, nice staff but they obviously don’t care that about pace of play.

Greens were great after playing lot nearby courses the greens here were best. Pace of play was good. Course has couple tough holes for distance but overall good for average golfer.

Tee off time for each group is 7 mins which means the group can’t be done within limitations time schedule, too much waiting to complete 18 holes. I spend 4.5 hours for 18 holes.

This course is not amazingly challenging but that doesn't mean it has tricks up its sleeve.

Course is very playable conditions although the rough was a little high. The greens were in good condition and a little fast today. The pace of play was fine no problems and the staff was very accommodating.

I hate 5somes to begin with and understand that under certain conditions and time windows a 5some in CARTS could actually keep up. Yet, when you have a walking 5some (YES, everyone in the grouo was walking) it should be considered as the ULTIMATE golf course sin. Instead of chit-chatting in the clubhouse all day, maybe look out the window at the first tee and see if this is happening before it gets started. Just because no one reported it, it doesn't mean its not the golf course's problem.

We have a friend who can't make it because he's daughter but they ended charging us full for 4 people even only 3 of us play.

The have to work more on keeping the grass in playable condition especially close the green. So many 5 people groups that make the waiting time longer.

The prices on drinks are very high compare with other courses.
