Needs springtime & TLC
The Orange to Black was showing the effects of a long, hard winter that still lingers. The tee boxes & fairways were not in their usual good shape but the greens had been double mowed & rolled on the day we were there & were like glass. I would expect warm, dry weather & some superintendent TLC will get it back into better shape. It's always been an enjoyable stop when traveling south.
Sad for course
Always was one of my favorite courses but the condition of the of the course is not what it use to be. Greens were like concrete and impossible to stop the ball. No grass on the tees and fairways were not over seeded for the winter.
Greens
Greens are always in excellent shape and fast! Love them!
Poor weather conditions
The day I played it was fairly cold, but what you would expect for January. However, I didn't expect a frost delay until 12:30 nor only 9 of 27 holes to be open. I was disappointed that we payed for 18 holes and had to play the white course twice on cartpath only.
Good Course
This is your standard golf course. It doesn't present you anything that will wow you, but is a solid golf course none the less. It's not a must play, but you will enjoy it if you play it
Exceptionally fast greens...!!!
Played all 27 holes yesterday and the courses overall were in really good condition. The greens on the Orange and Black were PGA fast. The White course was fast, just not as quick. Not complaining at all about the greens, they were amazing. The Orange and Black course did have quite a few holes that had leaves all over the fairway and greens. Overall though, really good course for the money.
best deal on golfnow.com
Great course and super inexpensive when booked on golfnow.com. They have 27 holes and have recently redone the greens on the original 18. Local College training course that is always in good condition.
Great Fall Golf and Excellent Greens
The weather was great. According to the golfers I joined and played with, the greens (MiniVerde) were recently rolled, smooth, fast, and in great condition. It made for a truly enjoyable day of golf.
Fantastic Greens
Have played KH for many years. The new Bermuda greens are true, fast and firm. Rest of course in good condition for the fall season. A very fair, fun layout.....wish they would adjust the white tees to about 6,350 yds.....currently 6,050. Great play with a hot deal.
Hidden Gem!!!
I've heard about this course for the last two years and finally decided to get a group together to play it. It was a beautiful, challenging course, and an absolute pleasure to play. Every shot requires thought. Many holes offered risk/reward plays. This course was expertly planned and the results were fantastic. I will be back again, and again!!!
Great coarse....Challenging!
The coarse was challenging but fun! Beautiful views along the way. Will have to go again soon to play the other 9 hole coarse along with the black coarse!
Very nice facility. Great practice area. Great staff, golf is their game.
Played Orange and White Course. Courses (27holes) are in great condition. Greens are nice, original 18 have just been rebuilt within the last year or so. They putt very well but are fairly hard, which lends to some bounce. Will keep playing it though and learn to hit it higher! There are some great Hot Deal prices available.
This PGA course is a major challenge to any golfer...
The Greens were pristine, as well as the fairways... It was like playing on my living room rug, I was extremely impressed...
Beautiful day, beautiful course
Fall is my favorite time to play golf and Keith Hills didn't disappoint. The course is plenty challenging for the average golfer. It's wide, but there is plenty of sand and water. The greens were in good shape as well. Pace of play was fine and the staff was friendly. It's a 30 minute drive and well worth the trip.
Good conditions, pace and layout.
Played the Orange/Black course from the white tee boxes. Only had to hit driver from about 5 or 6 tees. The rest were a short iron approach with a 3 wood from the tees. I'll probably move back when/if I play it again. (I'm not from the area or would patronize it regularly.) There is just enough trouble on the course to make it challenging, but not overly so.
My wife played along with me and hit from the forward tees. There wasn't a lot of trouble from there and she enjoyed her round as well.
The course was in decent shape. The greens putted true. Pace of play was great.
Great layout, new greens are only going to get better
Great layout, new greens are only going to keep getting better. Friendly staff and a decent warmup area make it a must play
Wet, but great!
Had a great time. No two holes were the same. We played the white and orange course. Highly recommend the orange. It had some scenic, challenging holes and required every club in the bag. It rained the night before, there were a few puddles as expected, but drained surprisingly nice.
