Springdale experience
The scenery is truly amazing throughout the golf course. The course is under new management from the last time we played the course and improvements are in progress. Everyone was very courteous and professional.
Great Mountain Course
Beautiful mountain views. Way out in the middle of the country. Go play!
Springdale
Springdale offers majestic views of the Western NC mountains. The course is being upgraded significantly, with high quality sand traps and great greens. The fees are most reasonable for the value.
Best golf near Asheville
If you enjoy the mountains go play this course. Yesterday was the 3rd time I have played and I enjoyed it just as much this round as I did the first time. Stunning views all the way through and the course offers different challenges as you go along. The staff were super nice and everything was well kept. The cart paths could use a little bit of repair but the course was in good shape. Some of the greens are starting to have a few brown spots but that is nothing out of the ordinary for the middle of summer. Best bang for your buck for sure. Way better than most of the other courses in and around Asheville. It's always my go to spot for a great round.
Decent Condition
First off, the course has switched the front nine and back nine - the GolfNow app has the old layout and needs to be updated. Springdale is in decent shape. Greens are in good shape, but were very slow on Saturday (need cut). Some of the fairways have rough spots. Bunkers are in great shape. Overall a good course that is improving.
Very nice course
Springdale is quickly becoming one of my favorite courses in Western North Carolina. Fairways are well manicured and the greens are in great shape. This is a fun course to play.
great course but really slow play
I have played this course for years with various owners and the current ones have done a great job in updating the entire course - they switched the nines which I enjoyed.
We had a decent pace going on the front but when we got to the back nine, it slowed to a snail's pace - had to wait over 10 mins. on several holes so wound up playing 40 mins longer than the front which totally compromised our concentration.
There are a lot of new golfers to this course and they tend to hit their balls in "bad" places which then causes many more shots from them - we saw one guy in front of us hit 3 balls into the hazard instead of just dropping it per rules.
The greens were slow to me except 1 or 2 which really were hard to predict the proper speed for longer putts as some greens here are HUGE.
Great Round As Always!!!!
Loving what the new owners and team are doing for this course. It is obvious the work they have put in, between new bunkers, water stations, restaurant, etc. Very excited to continue to play this course!!!
Drove from Greenville SC
Nice course
Fairways okay
Beautiful place to play
This course is probably one of my favorite places I have ever played. The layout is great and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.
The greens are a little slow, but they are consistent. Fairways are in great shape and wide open.
Springdale Country Club
Springdale Country Club is a really nice course in the mountains near Canton North Carolina. It was a beautiful spring dany in May when I played there. The course overall was in excellent shape but there were a few “ ground under repair” spots mostly on the back nine. As with most mountain courses, a couple of the par 5’s were uphill and unless you are a long driver u won’t make par on these. A couple of the par 3’s were really tight and would be better for the average golfer if they would cut s few tree limbs! The course was not crowded but I got behind a duo that was playing slow but I would just stop and enjoy the scenery while I waited. I was solo so I guess I could have played through but it didn’t matter this day. I would like to play there again sometime. I was also able to scope out some really good fly fishing spots on the drive to and from the course.
Loved everything about this course
Great views great layout great friendly staff super beautiful course
Fun and challenging course
Well worth the drive into the mountains just south of Asheville near the Smokey Mountains.
Spectacular views and vistas from this unique course. Well groomed, new grass planted here and there. Greens were nice. New cart paths in some areas. All in all it felt like a golf Experience more than just another course to play. Great value. I will be coming back for there stay and play offerings as well
GEM
Springdale is a beautiful peaceful place. Course was in great shape, snack shop sandwiches were awesome and the clubhouse had good deals on apparel. I will definitely be back soon.
Mixed feelings
Lets get the bad done with. The proshop staff completely miss the point about customer service. Not friendly to golfnow players at all!!
That being said... very nice golf mountain golf course with spectacular views!! Golf course a bit rough in some parts but you can tell they are working on it to improve. Local golfers were super friendly!!
