About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Covid-19???
The course was in great shape including the greens. Concern was that they are completely back to normal??? I guess some people are over Covid-19 and they seemed like they sure were. Not a single employee wearing a mask. Zero social distancing although there were signs to remain at a 12 foot distance but no enforcement by any staff members. Full tables in the clubhouse with no separation. Sand traps had rakes, water available on many holes, no upside down cups or pool noodles in the cups. Carts with 2 people riding together. Need I say more? Take your chances if you must. It is a nice course.
Great Course and fun to play
We played the Neuse while on our way down to Myrtle. The courses was in great shape and well worth the money. My only complaint is about the overpriced range balls and snack shop items.

Excellent condition tee to green
Course is in great shape right now. Lush, full fairways. Worth the drive from Raleigh, great value. Pace of play was very good, but it was a Monday. Greens weren’t as fast as I thought they’d be and some were a little blotchy but held and rolled well.

Beautiful Course
Second time playing this course and was able to scoop an absolute steal of a hot deal. Was well worth the money even at full price. Fairways roll great and everything is in great condition.

Great Course
Love playing this course a couple times a year. Money well spent! Greens were a little slower than usual probably due to the 2 weeks straight of rain but were still in great shape.

Challenging & fun!
Well maintained and beautifully laid out course. I promise, this course is worth your money. Greens are fast and not easy, because of that it was challenging and fun for me. If i have to say one bad thing about this course would be crossing the streets from one hole to another.

Great conditions
I do have to say the course was in amazing shape. I wish the guys that checked us in gave a little more detail on the course as it was our first time playing. Only thing we were not a fan of was a group of 5 playing in front of us. Really only turn off to the course. Other than that it was in great shape, food was good and layout is well above average.

Tough, enjoyable course.
Tough but enjoyable course. Lot of elevation change on the course. Greens putt well. Everything nicely maintained. Several holes right along the Nuese River, pretty cool.

Love The Neuse
One of my favorite courses in the area, and it did not disappoint this time!
I played the Neuse on Friday May 15, 2020. Had a bad experience on Hole #8. It's the par 5. I was walking up on the green to putt my ball, and the group behind me hit a ball over my head. Did not even yell four. My tee time was 9:50a.m. some people have no golf manners. And the group in front of me was too slow. Terrible day on the course. I play on the Senior Amateur Tour Central Carolina and we don't even play this bad. Don't know if I will play the Neuse again.

Course was in spectacular shape
Played on Sat afternoon during COVID quarantine times, so was very busy. We played as twosome at 2;30 so was a bit slow.
Course was in spectacular shape, fairways greener and a bit fluffier than most courses in area. Great course layout in super shape.

Greens Are Fantastic
Always a challenge playing here. Conditions were excellent. Greens were perfect and very fast. Layout is beautiful with plenty of room off the tee. Your approach shot is key, most of the holes have deep tough green side bunkers. You earn your handicap if you play this course often.

Everything was great!
Fairways and greens were in great condition. Pace of play was outstanding (had a 1pm tee time on a Saturday).

The NEUSE the drive was worth it
I have been wanting to play this course for a very long time. It is a 1 hour drive from my home so I finally reserved Tee Time and made it happen on 7 May. The drive was worth it. The Neuse did not disappoint. Amazing course and I look forward to playing it again. I recommend all Golfers to visit The Neuse.

Nice change
Fairly hilly with lots of awkward lies. Too many blind shots if you haven’t played here often . Fairways have severe slopes. Course conditions were good. Very large greens.
They have gone overboard with the social distancing . Had to plead with the pro shop to get inside to use the restroom.

Course is in fantastic shape
I've played the Neuse many times, and it's usually in very good condition, but yesterday was one of the best....except the range. The greens are fast, but not overly fast, and they rolled very true. The fairways are very green, but still very firm, so you'll get a lot of roll but plenty of spin into the greens, which don't hold low shots without spin. The staff was very friendly, the carts were in great shape, and there were plenty of them, even with the one cart per person rule. The only complaint I had about the entire day is the driving range. The area marked off for hitting had virtually no grass and was very rutty and hard to find a good stance. There are plenty of other areas for hitting, so there was no reason for this. Fix that, and it would be perfect.
