The Ridge Golf Course & Events Center

I've played The Ridge on several different occasions, once being a high end fundraising tournament with the course in immaculate condition. When I played Saturday October 17, 2015 the area had just experienced some overnight downpours. As a result I found the course to be pretty slushy in many areas, not typical of any of my previous experiences. Other than the out of anyone's control downpour contributing to less than desirable course conditions in numerous places, I found the rest of the course to be great. Greens rolled true, fairways were groomed nicely, tee boxes in good shape, sand bunkers drained well, and the rough was very playable.

Carts were not allowed on the course, and I can understand why. This led to a little slower play than normal, however our group managed to play 18 holes in about for and a half hours.

I had a great time and would highly suggest this Golf course to anyone wanting to test their Golf skills on a nice but challenging course.

Always a good course and challenging but it's been a long, hot, dry summer in Northern CA and the course is showing the stress. Also, stuck behind two extremely slow foursomes and that made for a 5 hour round. Still had a good time and would come back.

We really enjoyed the trip to the Ridge. We felt welcome. We had an sunday starting time after a tournament, but never had to wait at all. We were teamed up with two locals who helped us with a few suggestions on where not to hot the baal. It improved our score. They were both pleasant to play with, with a similar handicap.
The course itself was in good condition, tee, fairways and greens were really green. The coyrse is not simple, it is not for nothing called the ridge. We lost a few balls in the harzard, but were fortunate that they were marked with red stakes.
Overall a very worthwhile experience. Afterwards we had a beer and a burger in the bar, and were pleased again with the service.
We will recommend this course to everybody!

Enjoyed the course, It was in excellent shape and played well, Played from the Blues because my playing partner makes me!! I am about a 18 handicap and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Played the round in under 4 hours!

Everything went well. No problem with price, or anything related to the GolfNow experience.

This course is a challenge. I love it even though it is quite a drive from my home.

My continuous issue is this is such a tough course, pace of play suffers and there is no pace monitoring. On this day, we were the 4th group off....the 3rd group played in over 5 hours with no one holding them up. Am sure the group combined for at least 500 strokes. If you are a 18 index or higher, you may want to try an easier course, you will have no. fun here

I am hesitant to write such an excellent review because I don't want this gem of a course to get overcrowded. Elevated fairways, immaculate fairways, fair layout that challenges both long and short game, and a few very very tough greens (I like that). If you play it, reserve the driver for only those holes that are obvious or you may regret it.

I enjoyed the course very much and thought it was in very good condition. I was very disappointed in the pace of play. Took over five hours. I know they use a computer system tracking the carts on the course but they need marshals on the course to speed up slow groups and ensure a maximum 4.5 hr rounds for all the golfers on the course. I don't know if they even expect a 4.5 hr pace since our GPS system on our cart said we were only 27 min behind pace as we we starting the 17th hole (We were already on the course for about 5 hrs). We were waiting on every tee box and fairway for the group in front of us for the entire 18 holes. On the 18th hole ( a long par 4) there were four groups on the (1 on the green, 1 just short of the green, 1 in the tee land area, and us on the tee box.). A bachelor party of 8 was playing behind us and played as an Eightsome after the 7th hole because it was so slow and we could not pull away from the eightsome because of the slow play of groups ahead of us.
Again the course was extremely enjoyable but they need one or two marshals on the course to ensure a good pace of play (<4.5hrs)

The scorecard, bunkers, and hills can look intimidating but it's a lot of fun! Only played it twice before, it was my husband's first time. He loved it, especially after putting a couple pars on the card. The staff was very friendly! We were expecting to get paired with another group since it was just the two of us and a Sunday, but nope, went alone! A plus for us. We will be back!

This is an excellent golf course and a very good value. Challenging layout, the course appears short if you look at the scorecard, but there is plenty of length due to the hills. The course is in very good condition, given the drought in California. Very nice clubhouse. Staff was quite friendly. Mats only on the driving range was the only disappointment.

...you MUST play this course. Gold tees very challenging as too were the greens. Nice track in the foothills!!

This was one of the most memorable golf experiences ever. I get up to the Roseville area once every few months and this was the best course for the money I have ever played. The gentleman at the pro shop was the BEST!!! Super friendly and comped me a small range token because I opted to walk. Working in the service industry this goes a long way with me. Anyway, I will be back here every single time. I will be a true Customer For Life with The Ridge.

The course itself is good shape, with this bad drought I was surprised.
The pace of play was not great, no marshall's to get group's going. The front nine played almost 3 hours. Guys playing multiple tee balls instead of play the lateral hazard line.
I finally quit on the 13th hole with three groups waiting for the tee.
Maybe getting a marshall to speed up play would be something to look at. The course is to nice to let this type of play happen. I might go back but it will be early next time

Summer special rate, great value for this course. Keep the ball in play. do not chase into Sticky weeds off fairways as you will be pulling burrs off your clothes for hours.

The course is in great shape, despite the water shortage. Greens rolled true and were not too hard. Great rate on Golfnow.com, too!

The Ridge was a treat!
Lovely course nestled in Auburn with great conditions and challenging golf holes.

Given the drought and other courses conditions, this course is well worth the drive.

This is a course that you have to keep the ball in play in order to score, you miss a fairway your toast in spots.

I had played Darkhorse, in the area, and was told also to try this course. I am from Ky, and was here for the Senior Open. Both courses are outstanding, but different.
Ridge is a great layout, and was in extremely good condition, considering the drought in the area.

As a frequent golfer (80+ rounds a year) I was excited to come play the ridge again. Course is tough but always in good condition. Unfortunately it's hard to enjoy a round this slooooow. T time was 8:25 got to t off around 8:45 since they were already drastically behind. Slow from start but at 7 hole showed up to a group of 8 . They eventually split up to two 4's but the damage was done. Total round took about 5:45. Things happen....no big deal and on a Saturday it can be expected. However my biggest concern is the staff. In close to 6 hours did not see 1 Marshall. Even the cheap courses like bing and Bartley manage pace of play better. When checking in the desk man did not let us know t off was late and had the personality of a rock(none). I believe they should make the greens keeper manage the staff because course conditions were great but staff was not. At $50 a piece I would expect much more. Might as well pay $20 more and make the drive to Yocha, or better yet if in auburn head to dark horse or auburn valley for comparable rates you'll always least get a smile from the staff.

Plays a tough 130 slope. Not too long, Good mixture of long, short, tight, sloping holes. Par five are short but challenging. Lot of local knowledge needed.
