Beautiful Course and layout

Beautiful course in Auburn. GPS carts, excellent clubhouse/bar....challenging course requiring accurate driving. Windy conditions in afternoon seem to be common. One of my favorite public courses along with Apple Mountain in Camino.

Great course - solid value

This course will definitely become one of my main courses. The overall condition was very good, and it's a fun and somewhat challenging track. Having paired up twice and played the forward tees as well as back tees, I can say it definitely changes the course. Overall if you keep it in the fairway it's not too tough (but then that can be said about most courses).

Definitely some gorgeous views, and it's nice to be up in elevation to get a bit of clear air (for you folks with allergies). I'm definitely a course snob having moved here from a place where there are amazing courses, but even with how over competitive it is in the area they seem to be able to maintain the course well. This is definitely worth a trip to play, and it's a bit less of a drive than Auburn Valley CC.

I really like this course... the only minor negatives would be the drive, sand traps aren't great (common to the greater Sac area though), and lastly the drinking water. Bring extra water if you plan on playing after 1pm, as the last two times I've been there some of the water coolers were empty.

End of the day though it's in my top five for the area, and it's actually worth the green fee they charge.

Pristine and challenging

Beautiful course layout and one of Nor-Cal's hidden gems. This course has a little of everything. Elevated tees, doglegs, water, and ohhh the bunkers. Regardless from what tees you choose, the course has plenty of obstacles to consider before every shot. In case you end up in one of the many bunkers positioned throughout the course. They actually are genuine sand. Not the old hardened sand you find at virtually ever other public facility. Most importantly the greens are well done and putt true. If you want a course that challenges your skills and appreciate the visual asthetics of a Robert Trent Jones jr course. This is unequivocally the track to test your skill.

I Always Enjoy The Ridge

I always enjoy playing The Ridge....I don't always have a great score...but always enjoyable.
As usual, the course was in very good shape. The greens today were much slower than usual, very sandy.
The maintenance crew has done a great job rehabbing the bunkers throughout the course.
If you are anywhere in or around the Sacramento Area, it is surely worth the drive up 80 to play The Ridge.

Great First Time Out.

My husband had open heart surgery on 9/19/2013 so he was restricted from swinging a golf club for 3 months. We did go to driving ranges, and played 9 holes at Black Oak and Haggin Oaks but this was the first 18 holds of golf since then. We loved it, had a great time and actually played very well. Some of the greens are a little rough having just been aerated a few weeks ago but all in all the course is in great shape. Pace of play was excellent with a 3hour 40 minute round. Loved it and can't wait to get back!

Great club

Great course! Greens were sanded, so the greens were much easier. Usually the greens are fast and difficult adding to the difficulty of play. Love this course!

Aeration alert?

I signed up on GolfNow 3 days ago and did not see any aeration alerts online (after my round I checked again and no alerts appeared. After driving from Carmichael to Auburn, I was extremely disappointed as I strode to the first green and noticed the aeration holes and thick layer of sand. Who is responsible for removing the aeration alert? The condition of the greens were awful! This course is in mid aeration condition. Putting was impossible. I don't know if this is miscommunication between GolfNow and the course or just a glitch but there should be an aeration alert still in effect. Is there a representative who could address this problem?

This course is well maintained

This course is beautiful and well maintained. This course can play quite difficult. The trouble is clearly marked laterals, as opposed to rehitting when u lose a ball in the woods. But a fun and strategic course even for a recreational golfer. Not overly long.

Great Value

Very good course for the price. I will be going back to play again. Fairways and tee boxes were in perfect shape, greens had been punched a few days before, but were still ok. I liked that when I booked my tee time them informed me that the greens had just been punched. I wish I lived closer.

Beautiful location

I wish someone would have told me they had just aerated and that the greens had so much sand they were like putting in a sand trap! I had taken a VIP client there and it was embarrassing! Not sure I will go back! Disappointed that golf now did not have a flag on the website that showed it just aerated! Not sure who made that mistake!

Challenging Course

It is a challenging course. You must drive straight or else you are in trouble. The only thing that I didn't like about the course is that there are bunkers that don't have enough sand in them. Thus, cart path only when the fairways are extremely dry and in excellent condition.
