Guys golf outing

Our regular golf group got out to play away from our home track. Pro shop staff was friendly but not very informative ,ie if play was on time, etc. After warming up at the driving range and putting green, there was no starter or call up to the tee. We had to ask each group when their tee time was and then get in line. Our foursome had to follow a twosome and another twosome followed us. It would help if the staff or starter would pair up twosomes to improved pace and flow of play. The Ridge GC could definitely benefit from having a starter.

winter golf is good

Course is in great shape. Fairways are mowed and quite lush for this time of year. Greens were very good and quite quick. Biggest problem is they do not marshall and the round was extremely slow.

High Score but Big Fun

Our group had a great time at the Ridge. If you have not played it then you should. Tee to green was not bad if you can hit the fairways which are actually fairly wide. Greens are in really good shape and run true but man they are pretty crazy. On 2 instances I was below the hole and putted up to about a foot past the hole and it proceeded to roll back past the hole and leave me a 3 footer back up the hill. Make sure you read your putt from both sides!!! Love the side by side par 5's with the rock trench in the middle. Very scenic and beautiful lay out. It is the kind of course that you stand on the tee and think about all the options. And make sure you play the right tees. I'm a 12 and played with some 20+ handicap and the white tees were recommended by the starter which was the right choice for the group. The 2 groups in front of us played the blues and judging where they were hitting their second shots from I think they would have enjoyed themselves a lot more playing forward a bit. This is what added to our long playing time. We played cart vs cart best ball skins and that took the sting out of the blow up holes for the guys. Get there early and use the practice putting area... pretty reflective of what you will see on the course. All in all a great time. We all want to play again.

Highly Recommended

I was very impressed with how green the course was, especially with the drought we are going through. Greens were in excellent condition, as well as fairways. Had to overhear all the 49er fans complain about how my Hawks beat them, but it was all good.
Definitely play this course. I will return. Also, using Golfnow.com gave me a better price than the two seniors I played with. I found out I paid less to play then they did. They said they would start using Golfnow.com.

Pros:The Ridge is one of the best courses in the Greater Sacramento area. Take it from me. I moved here to retire because there are so many affordable places to play. The Ridge is one of the top courses. Fantastic routing, danger everywhere. Bring all your shots, you'll need 'em.

Cons: The GPS on the Electric Carts shuts the
Drive off if you go off the path on certain holes.
However there's no warning of this before you take possession of the cart. Which is strange because "The Staff" is very maticulous about ensuring you sign for the cart

The course was a real challenge!

It was winter so it was a little wet. And I walked off solo and it took me less than 3 hours to finish. I didn't order any food. I really enjoined it and I can't wait to go back. Maybe this time to hang on there practice range which looked real nice.

Great Course

My brother was visiting from Colorado, and I wanted him to be able to enjoy a nice new (to him) course. I booked a foursome for us, and the conditions could not have been better. We teed of at 7:50, and in December you can 't be sure what to expect. Once the sun shone it warmed up real nice. And I was in my t-shirt by whole ten (I wore layers, but didn't expect to go down to a shirt, and didn't have a collar). Long story short, I ended up birdying two holes. The course is challenging, but it has some really beautiful views. I'm already planning to go back when my brother visits this summer.

Good Course

Traveled from Carson City, NV to play golf since our courses are covered in snow right now. Looked on GolfNow.com to find a course to play and found The Ridge. Excellent price and was able to book a round as a single. That is really important for me when I travel instead of taking a chance of going to a course blind and not knowing if I will get out or not. Course was in very good shape and the staff were terrific in providing answers to any questions I had. Would definitely play there again.

Excellent course

It was well maintained . Path only because it just rained, so that was probably why the pace was slow. There was a lot of uphill shots. Every green has at least one big level change on it.
