Eagle Chase Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern Union County, surrounded by nothing but acres of countryside and farmland. The secluded locale is ideal for golf, especially since it is conveniently situated less than an hour from Charlotte. The course tumbles across lush green hills and valleys, providing almost every hole with an elevated tee or green. The undulating layout definitely plays like a mountain golf course with even lies being hard to find and a few blind shots to contend with. Water hazards come into play on seven holes, including the first three and the 12th hole, an uphill par 3 that is one of the golf course's most difficult. In addition to the course, Eagle Chase G.C. also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping and putting greens.

Beatiful view and challenging

I have played here a couple of years ago, now course is even better with some improvements including cart path. I love this course. Just be careful when you drive in stiff road, other than that it is so beautiful and fun to play here.

I have played this course 2 times and can t wait to go back. Eagle's Chase is a gem. Drove a hour and 30 minutes and would do it again tomorrow. Everything about this course is great. Only miner complaint cart path is bumpy. Lol... if this was in Pinehurst it would still be a must play!

Challenging mountain style course

We played the course on Sunday, early morning. Pace of play was good and the course was in great shape. Greens putted true and were moderate in speed. The course is in a rural setting but using GPS and golf course signs was able to find it easily. One would never guess this would play like a mountain course but there is a lot of topographical change in the land which adds to the challenge and scenic beauty of the course. The staff and local golfers were friendly. Would recommend playing this course and will be playing it again soon

Tough but fair course. Every hole has its own unique challenges with no hole the same. A solid challenge.

Great Course in good condition

I really enjoyed my round at Eagle Chase. I bought passes online at a great price. The tees and fairways were in good shape. The greens were in excellent shape...some of the best around. Many of the holes are very challenging and seem more like a mountain course. There are a couple holes I didn't like which were both par 4's up very steep hills, but also a couple great holes hitting over water to an hilly green.Love the par 3 with a 100 foot drop. I would easily recommend this course to friends. For the price, it can't be beat. The only drawback is the long drive to get there.

Great course great value

Really liked this course. Great layout only 1 or 2 holes I didn't care for but really nice and in good shape. Got the tee time last minute for 19 bucks! Will definitely try again even though it was a drive for me.

Well maintained

The course is very clean. Greens are fast, just the way I like them. Great deal on GolfNow. Actually feel a little guilty about playing for that price. $25.

Everybody should play this course. It is a nice one.

Eagle Chase worth the drive

Eagle Chase is a quality golf course. If it was closer to Charlotte, it would be considered one of the best public courses in the metro area. It is a 45-minute drive from south Charlotte, but it is worth the drive. The conditions are as good as many private clubs. The greens have a lot of undulation and roll very nicely, although the greens are firm, and it is tough to hold any shots except wedges. The fairways and bunkers are well maintained. Some of the tee boxes could use a little TLC, but that is a very minor issue. The layout, elevation changes, and views are great. Most of the landing areas for tee shots are generous, but there are a few holes where you better hit it straight. The only hole that should be redesigned is the par 5 11th hole. There is nowhere to hit your 2nd shot because a large oak tree on the right guards the fairway closer to the green, there is a pond on the left, and everything runs downhill towards the pond. I think I hit driver, wedge to behind the pond, then 8-iron to the green. One hole is not a deal-breaker, so I'll definitely play Eagle Chase again.

Play this course!

Green were fast, ran true and were well maintained. Fairways in very nice shape. Rough manageable. Most holes feature significant elevation changes. A very good balance of playability and challenge.

Unsuspected Challenge

Greens: rolled true, amazing condition, big in surface area. Played midday, maybe 8 or 9 on the stimp.

Challenging layout requiring good shots from all facets of the game on plenty holes.

Level teeboxes, well grassed fairways, quality sand bunkers.

Ask yourself after playing how #2 isn't the #1 handicap hole.

Nice layout, would highly recommend

My son and I played this course for the first time and enjoyed it very much. The layout is very challenging for every level. The greens rolled great and were in good shape. We have played all over the Charlotte area and would say this course is a great challenge well worth the drive.

Extremely Slow play - Marshall non existent

Normally really enjoy this course and layout-this round was EXTREMELY disappointing due to incredible slow play and Marshall/Clubhouse did NOTHING about it. Both foursomes in front of us waiting for group ahead of them to get on the Green before teeing off (Par 4 and Par 5's!). Brought it to attention of the clubhouse and nothing changed.

If you are out for a 5 1/2 hour round that's OK but let the group behind you a play through so they can finish in 4.

Not sure I will go back, especially on weekends! Too bad because love the layout and price!

Eagle Chase golf course

Eagle Chase is a hidden gem tucked away in a semi mountainous setting. No homes in sight, just the great outdoors. The fairways and greens are in better shape than most courses in the area.
