About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

No course in this condition should ever allow people to play
I really hate to be so negative, but I’m not sure I’ve played worse greens and overall conditions on any golf course in over 38 years of playing. Walk over to the practice green before you hit the first tee. If that doesn’t spell it out for you, not much will. I’m guessing the ownership group is trying to let it go so they can profit off the development of new homes. That’s the only logical explanation. ProShop staff and dining room staff were awesome! I feel bad they’re subjected to any patrons who might take out their disappointment on them. I won’t play this course again, and sadly there’s too many courses in Bluffton that are letting them go in the toilet. Such a beautiful area.

Beautiful day for golf
Grass was getting green. Greens were fast but ball rolled true. Some spots in he fairways that were thin. Conditions should improve in the next few weeks. A bit pricey for the conditions.

Disappointing Conditions
Fairways were expected to be dormant this time of year but greens were poor.

Enjoyed the day
We had a very enjoyable round; the course conditions were ok some bare spots but it has been very dry.
The staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

Poor value for the price
The course is in extremely poor condition. The staff are friendly and helpful. The starter sent me to the back nine as there was a scramble in front of me on the front. I played in under three hours thanks to him.
The greens, fairways and tee boxes are in very poor condition.

The Rose Hill golf course is in terrible condition. Turf condition is very poor. Some fairway areas have NO grass. Greens are bumpy weedy and have muddy areas in places. Tee offs are in bad shape too. This is perhaps the worst course I’ve played in over 50 years of playing golf all over the country. My wife signed us up for 18 holes with the early bird discount, but we decided not to play more than 9 holes. It was not a good value for any amount paid. It’s too bad; the design and layout have great potential. It’s obvious that the course is under capitalized and needs a lot of work. I feel sorry for the homeowners and members. It’s a real shame. The person checking us in was unenthusiastic and gave us no direction. I asked if we should grab a cart and asked about a starter and which direction we should head and then she responded. But that’s it.

Terrible course condition
The greens had weeds all over. Very little grass on fairways.. Do not waste your time or money.

It needs a lot of work
We just about walked off the course after playing nine holes. It looked as though nothing has been done to the course to maintain it for months. If not longer. The back nine was better. We only saw one worker the entire round. He was using a gas weed trimmer in an area that a small mower would have worked. Poor use of his time. The sand traps hadn't been raked for weeks if not months. The clubhouse was nice, and the people were friendly and helpful. If you want a course that is maintained, you better go elsewhere. I hope that some monies will be allocated to get it back in shape. The others in my group said that they would never go back.. I may give it a shot later this year or next. If it hasn't improved, I will then alert the cows to come on in, you can only help it.

Faded Rose
Brought friends from out of state and everyone was let down. While the staff was very good, the course is not worth the fee. T-boxes are nearly bare ground and muddy and the greens are all overgrown by weeds/Paonia and many have bare areas. It's very difficult to keep a putt on-line. A lot of work has been performed to install new irrigation, etc., the greens will soon be lost if not attended to immediately.

Disappointed
Course was in lousy condition, burnt fairways, patches of shrub grass on burnt greens, leaves all over the tee box. Won't be back anytime soon.
