About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Getting Better
Maintenance continues and the course is greening up. Tee boxes were 70% green with many very good, Fairways are 75% green but thin, and Greens were 60% still trying to shed the poa grass. Its definitely better than it was this winter/spring, and I did truly enjoy the round. The best is still the clubhouse, the food is very good and the staff are very friendly. Give it a try!

Needs work!
Fairways and greens were in poor shape. Good course layout, but until the conditions improve, I wouldn't go back.

Rose Hill Upgrades Needed
Rose Hill course has gone down hill since the new management company has taken over. Fairways are barren greens are bumpy. Starter is not too friendly. Pro is doing his best but improvements are needed.

Sloppy wet front, ok back
The front9 was a mudfield, but it hadn't rained in days.
The back 9 wasn't muddiy but it wasn't in great condition.

Very disappointed. Played this course many times and the worse ever. Tee boxes, fairways , greens all awful. Will not play again.

Weeds
Course had mostly dirt fairways and weeds growing through the green. It had not been cut in a week. Rough was all weeds. Needs some heavy maintenance.

Like this course, but..
Have played here a few times and enjoy it. Fits well with my skill level. Beautiful day but grass was in rough shape. Fairways were pretty bad..greens were marginal.

Horrible
Worst course conditions I have ever seen. Absolutely worse than if I played in a corn field or my neighbors yard. Total waste of money and time. Never played a course in worse conditions in my entire life.

Rose hill
It's not Austa National so bad reviews here are ridiculous. Its a fun course well worth $50. Very challenging with lots of interesting holes.

Poor course condition
Course has good bones and layout. The front nine is probably the worst conditioned course I’ve ever played. The greens were basically mud with hardly any grass and the fairways weren’t much better. Stay away from this course in HH with so many other options.

Save your money
I can’t recall the last time I played a course in such poor shape. Fairways were bald or mud, hard to find any type of grass.. Some greens were irritated, there was so many grass patches, uneven. I putted a ball, 6 inches from the hole it hit one of the grass bumps, and missed by 5 inches.
Very disappointed, what I would call a cow pasture.

What a poor excuse for a golf course
Fairways are a mix of grasses and weeds,with the weeds out growing the grass. The greens are in poor condition with dirt spots thought out the greens, and different types of grasses coming up but which have been rolled flat,they aeratored the front nine,not only not telling me but there staff said they were not informed either. The large deep hole in the cart path are in need of filling as a safety issue. When I spoke to the course starter ,he attempted to explain it is the start of spring,I told him I golfed 5 other courses this week ,all of them were in good to excellent condition. Golf somewhere else .

Unfortunately in Poor Shape
I tried to play here once a year when I travel to Hilton Head. It’s too bad that for the past 5 years now, this course is spiralling in a downward trend. The layout has always interested me on continuing to hope that next year things would improve. But it’s not. The fairways and tee blocks are mostly weeds. The greens are patchy at best, no real straight putts thanks to aeration and dirt/grass. The sand traps were hard and need more sand. It’s sad because like I said, the layout and yardage is what I like the most. If the rounds were $20-25 maybe, but not $60+.
Will no longer risk until I consistently see good reviews.
