The Pointe
I have play this course every time I come to the OuterBanks and love playing here. The people at the Pro Shop as well as the Resturant are very friendly and accommodating and make the experience very enjoyable. The course it self is always in great playable shape, and it's usually the first course I'll play when we arrive in the OBX. If you have the opportunity to play here, do it
Super greens
The Pointe is always worth a trip back over the bridge from the Outer Banks. Consistently superior over the past 20 years.
Good time!
Course was in great shape. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Greens were in great shape, especially this time of year. Recommend highly, recommend checking Golfnow.com for a great rate. Thanks for the day!!
Great condition in three winter
Great condition for playing in the winter
Good Value Course for the Outer Banks
The Pointe is an excellent facility from the pro shop to the starters to the course conditions to the club's restaurant. The clubhouse is a nice, single-story structure with a well-stocked pro shop. The greetings there are invariably friendly, a trend that continues to the starters on the first tee. There's a good practice green right by the first tee with a full range and short game area a short cart ride away.
The course will not break your back, but you may find it more difficult to score than the yardage might indicate. That's almost totally because of the wind, which is generally a factor during each round. Course conditions are almost uniformly excellent although there are a few areas that chronically stay wet, requiring that carts remain on the path on several holes. Little change in elevation, except on 12 and 16--each hole requires a second over a dip in the fairway to the green with trees bordering on the left on 12 and water edging in from the right on 16. The course returns to the clubhouse twice, after 9 and after 14. Pace of play is usually very good. Although I played by myself on December 15, 2015 and finished in almost exactly three hours, I've been paired up with groups on other rounds and still finished in less than four hours.
The restaurant in the clubhouse, Keefer's, is very good. The staff is professional and friendly, and the food is both good and reasonably priced. I recently had a 6 oz. sirloin steak special with mashed potatoes and a salad for $8.95. Although the steak was small, it was of good quality and cooked to medium rare as ordered. The mashed potatoes were definitely not out of a box, and the salad was made with fresh greens and vegetables. It's not unusual to see folks who are not playing golf eating at the restaurant--a sign of the quality and value this facility offers.
Halloween golf
The Pointe is always in great condition and fun to play. Even after a very dry summer the course was in near perfect condition. Greens are fast. A fun place to play .Not crowded this time of year.
October golf
Nice track. Played with members who were great. Conditions were excellent. Course is mostly wide open which suits my game.
Wonderful facility
Course was in excellent condition. This was the nicest most professional staff. Took bags when arrived, starter put us on the back and then made space for us to fit back in the front nine. We finished in 4 hours. Drink cart came 5 times during round. Greens were in great shape.
Nice, fun play
Nice course for the price. Fun play and not too difficult. Staff is really good
Loved it !!!
Awesome course for me. Open Fairways but still challenging and mowed perfectly. Even rough made it harder but not impossible. Greens were very nice and avg. speed. Staff friendly and courteous. Pace of play (weekday) was not a factor. Overall A+ in my book and would absolutely play again. Buy fees online and costs are very good.
Good course, friendly staff
Actually played there two days in a row. Good conditions, although the first day it was cart path only. Bermuda grass on the fairway made it little bit challenging. There are some water hazards to challenge you as well. Greens can be very fast when not wet. Beer cart is not available all days (possibly because it was out of season). Liked the course and definitely would recommend it to all levels of players.
Glad we came
Good $$$ deal, pleasantly surprised. Maybe a little too easy from white tees for single digit handicappers but the wind was such, that it made sense to play them.
Great Day
Staff was very friendly. Course was in very good condition. Greens rolled good and were in good shape. Round was played in less than 4 hours on Labor Day. Very pleased would highly recommend to anyone visiting the OBX.
This was a well maintained facility staff was very helpful
Great value and conditions the staff was very helpful
Best OBX Greens
Great course but bring you best putting game. These greens are super fast!
Very nice course
Very well maintained, wide open course. Huge fairways and large greens. Greens are very fast even though they had just been top dressed. Several interesting holes. Not a very long course, but top notch in every other way. Perfect course for a resort vacationer.
Forgiving course
Good feeling fairways. Greens could have used some work. Lots of divots. Short course. All in all it was ok. Expected better from price of $100.
Great Vacation Course
Great course. Playing mostly in NJ/PA this is my first course I played in NC from recommendations I was told about. I wanted to stay on courses directly on the Outer Banks but this was well worth the trip over the bridge.
I'm a high handicap golfer and it was a great course with plenty of space if you hit wide. But the fairways are a decent size that I was hitting a lot of them. Grass was perfect and the ball settled really well on it. The only thing that I could say was not the best was the speed on the greens. The balls kept on rolling and since I was concerned about that I hit a lot of putts short...or they would just kept on going.
Would highly recommend a trip to this course and the price was a little higher than I normally play but well worth it.
