Very Nice Experience
My wife and I play the Pointe a couple times a year. Always worth the 65 mile trip. The weather was rough this winter and the fairways are a little behind but a couple weeks of warm sun and a little rain will bring them back. The folks working at the course are quite friendly. A golfer friendly course with some challenges but you need to keep the ball under control or the course can bite.
Going to be a good summer!
played this course many times before. score depends on the wind. Play from the tips with wind above 15mph and good luck breaking 90. Greens rolled 10+ and in great shape. fairways brown but they had tough winter in the OBX. when rains come and it gets green, will be great track.
Good Value
The Point is good value for the golfnow price. We play this course 3-4 times a year when visiting OBX area. Unfortunately, the weather was abnormally cold and damp for mid April. Fairways were good except for a few wet spots, but the greens were excellent. I used all the clubs in my bag, so I like the course, and will continue to play it.
The Pointe and The Carolina Club are the best!!!
Very nice course and if you haven't played the sister course The Carolina Club...make the trip!!
An OBX golfers must'
You can't find a better golf course on the OBX. The greens are perfect and the practice areas are first class. What makes The Point stand out is the superior staff.
Overall great course
Great course for the money! Very playable but yet has some character. Greens roll as smooth and quick as its sister course Carolina Club.
windy round at OBX
Played from the gold tees, windy, came up short a lot on shots to greens and the greens were aerated a couple of weeks ago but course had a nice layout. I also got tolay with three local members that were very friendly and good golfers.
straightforward, good practice facilities
greens had just been plugged and sanded, but I was alerted by GolfNow and the pro shop so not a problem
Great Tune-up Course
Played the course on a beautiful October day. It was my first round on a golf trip to the Outer Banks area. This course is reasonably interesting, not overly tight, with fast and true greens. The restaurant is wonderful for lunch, especially, before or after your round. The staff is friendly, and the facilities are good all-around. There is a range for warm-up if desired also. It is a reasonably priced course normally, and the "Hot Deal" price was fantastic.
Greens are great
Fast greens and hard to read but true, everything about the day was first class and high quality
Playable and manicured course
Very playable course that gives you some room for error off the tee - unusual for the OBX area. Played with my son who plays infrequently. The course did not overwealm him. I am a 10 handicap and I shot an 82 without my A game. I only lost one ball in the process. Greens were fast and true, but they help good shots. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Minnesota 3-Some
The staff was great. The course was in great shape!
We will play the course again next year.
Nice course. Worth playing a few times.
Super friendly staff and fun challenging course. Conditions were a little spotty, particularly some tee boxes, but overall it is in good shape and worth playing again.
Got The Point
A very nice golf course that's well maintained. Lacks the character if it's sister course the Carolina Club but the course is in impeccable shape and definitely worth playing.
Go Play
Very nice course- open very friendly well maintained go play
beautiful setting
one of the most beautiful and well maintained courses I have ever played
Amazing
Best public course played to date. Tee recomendations are accurate and fun. Played with a friend and we were third out in the am on a Wednesday. Our round was enjoyable with no rush and finished in 3 hours. Definitely play here whenever possible.
Awesome
Very nice layout,my first time playing this course and was treated like I was a member
Best greens on the planet
Had not played here in 10 years and thankfully not much has changed. The green are remarkable. Hold like a wet blanket and roll like a worn out pool table.
but people - FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!!!.
this course was the highlight of our golfing in OBX. Its a must play even for occasional gofer as its wide open.
Very Pleasing Course
Upon our arrival we were greeted in the parking lot with our cart. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. True southern charm here. Being our first time playing the course, the starter had us start out on #10 as it would allow us to play at our own pace without feeling rushed. The course was in excellent condition and we had a great round of golf at the Pointe. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking for a great golf experience while vacationing in the Outer Banks.
