About
Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult.The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

Good Course, but tough
This course was in good shape for February in Myrtle Beach. Greens were receptive, but FAST and LOTS of undulations, making putting difficult. Most fairways are narrow (trees both sides) and there is quite a bit of water to carry or avoid around this course. Both 9th and 18th require carry over water to hit green; other par 3s are over stretch of water to hit green. Be prepared for a challenge when you play this course. Might not be the best choice if you are looking for an easier course.
Eastport
Aside from the fact that carts were not available for our teetimes, the pace of play was over 4.5 hrs. Found discrepancies between card layout and actual layout. Kept being surprised.

Great course with challenging holes
We enjoyed the course the fairways were well maintained and there was a nice variety of holes some more challenging than others … the only complaint is long wait to get on course we waited at least 20 minutes to half hour past our tee team and pace play was slow

Squeezed in an extra round
Visiting area on a buddy golf trip. Made a last minute decision to play 18 on a sunny but cool afternoon around 130pm. Matched up with some nice people. Very friendly staff. Pace of play overall was not too bad. Course conditions for time of year were acceptable. Course has some demanding shots which added to the fun/challenge. Decided to only play 9 as temps got cooler. Fun course to play.

Inexpensive
Course average condition nice staff cart paths a mess. Some paths just dirt others cracked and dirty.

Nice variety of holes
We teed off about 45 minutes late. They had morning events that did not finish on time. The club pro did some double booking with tee times 4 minutes apart in the afternoon. The starter refused to let people out on the first hole when there was large gaps in the shotgun group, so everyone stood around waiting. Seemed like total confusion. Once on the course, the pace of play improved after a few holes, so we still finished 18 holes, but it was a frustrating experience. Not sure we would play it again.

Excellent course
Great conditions considering the rain we have experienced. Course condition was great aside from a few weeks coming up in some greens.

Fun layout, good conditions
Good pace of play, creative course design, and good conditions. Definitely a shot placement course over a long course or a "feel good" course like many in the area. Similarly creative to local courses Whispering Pines and Colonial Charters. Will play again.
