Santee National Golf Club possesses all of the charms of the Carolina Lowcountry but it is also nicely contrasted with highland terrain. The course sprawls across rolling hills covered with moss-draped live oaks that demand accuracy. Both the scenery and the challenges continue with pristine white sand bunkers that stand out against the lush greens. There are also five sparkling lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The front nine is wide open but the course narrows as you move onto the back nine and it also becomes more wooded. It is a tough golf course but more forgiving than it seems. As the only Golf Digest 4-star rated course in the area, Santee National has a longstanding reputation with locals and it is also popular with visitors.

Beautiful course

The wife and I played this course and were very pleased with it. Pace of play was good and being a pair, the 2 foursomes in front of us let us play through as we caught up to them. The fairways and greens were nice and rolled true. Greens were challenging with the many different levels. First time to play this course but would definitely like to play it again.

Great Value

Greens were in great condition. Bunkers were well-kept. This course would be twice the price if in a different location. Loved it!

It a good golf course

Enjoyed the golf course very much. I liked the front nine better than the back. I personally don’t like too many doglegs which the back nine has. The pimento cheese sandwich in the clubhouse is next level good, best I ever had. The fried bologna sandwich is off the chart too.

Nice course

We were staying at Santee Cooper State Pak and booked a round. If ever staying there you get a discount account of staying at the campground. Have to ask for it at time of booking over the phone.

Awesome Value for the money!!!!!!

I was amazed at the condition of the course! We came from an hour away and had never played here before, but have heard nothing but great reviews and positive opinions from friends and our local club friends. From the tee box to the greens, the course was in amazing condition. The pace of play was very relaxed and the overall layout of the course was very balanced. Dog legs in each direction, challenging water hazards that make you think about your next shot, and nice greens that were well maintained, smooth, and on the faster side. I recommend that if anyone is thinking about playing this course, just do it. I promise it won’t disappoint. The added bonus is the price. We came from the Charleston area and our local courses that are similar are at least double the rate per person. Highly recommend playing here if given the chance.

Horrible and unprofessional staff

Booked a hot deal, drove 3 hours and was told if my g/f wanted to ride she or I would have to walk. No carts available, I said ok... can we wait till a cart comes available and I will pay for her to ride and that wasn't even a option, total jerk in the clubhouse, went next door to lake Marion country club and was able to jump right on no problem, very nice and said since national got bought out there have been alot of complaints.. would rate a zero,

Pace of play is a killer

Love this course. Always in good shape but man has the pace of play gone down hill.

There is constantly large groups playing that take over 2 hours to play 9 holes. This has been a problem for us with tee times around 1:30 or so. Today they had tee time at 3 so we figured the large groups should be on the back 9 when we start. Nope they were teeing off at 3pm. Well over 2 hours to play 9 holes. Lucky they only played 9 but we had to stop because it got dark on us on hole 14. If you’re going to keep booking large groups like this. Your going to bed someone on the course to keep things moving.
