#4 West is a cool short par three with several good tee angles into an undulating green. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 03/28/2020

The best scenery is on #8 West - a long and testing par 5 along the Calabash River. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 03/28/2020

fairly good shape but hard to chip around greens
greens were hard to get speed down. were a little slow. fairways good. had difficulty in chipping with dormant grass short of greens.
Not my favorite
This was my first time playing here since the late 1990s when the course had 36 holes. Today we played the West and East nines. I found the conditions to be good and there were some scenic holes. I did not like the large amount of blind shots and penalty areas positioned to prevent accomplished golfers from hitting driver off the tee. Several holes requires you to lay back to 220 yards which I hate. The group behind us also hit into our group on #8 East, our 17th hole. I don’t know why, we were on pace and played in just under 4 1/2 hours. Probably won’t be back.
Quick Greens
Pin placements were brutal. Hit is easy and play more break than you think. Happy three putt !!!
Great course
Played 27 holes on a Friday. Third time at Pearl in past four trips to MB. Pace was good for first 18 then a little slower after noon because of one slow group. Course setting is incredible on marsh land along a river. Greens rolled fast and true. Fairways, tees, rough and sand were all good. Great value, one of best values in MB area, especially the replay rates. Great place to play 27 or 36. Staff was friendly and nice, in clubhouse and at bag drop. Only odd thing is the routing of one of the nines. It starts with a lot of par 3s and 5s. You don’t play a par 4 until the fifth or sixth hole of the nine.
prefect round on golf
course was in great condition weather was perfect. great staff. Played West to East both challenging and in excellent shape for late November
Decent
Decent course with odd layout of holes. The par 3 and 5 are grouped close together or back to back. The course has some age but the entire area never developed and built houses. Fairways and tee boxes has been over seeded but theres been no rain in a really long time. They do have irrigation i was told. Can be a tough course to score well.
Greens was in good shape. Carts on path and rough grass only until grass grows in fair ways
Overall, a great course. However, the fairways were patchy and dry. (Mowed to short?). Very playable, but not the well room fairways that we had encountered in the past.
The Pearl is a Gem
We played 9 holes here years ago and decided to play 18 on this trip to Myrtle Beach. It's a beautiful course, like playing in a nature preserve. Not a house in sight, just trees and marshes surround the holes. Tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition, and greens rolled smoothly and quickly. The price seemed fair for such a fun round (West to East courses).
Only negative is that they really need to replace their aging golf carts - ripped seat upholstery and balky accelerator pedal.
Great course
This was by far the best course we played in the area in this price range.
The course is very scenic and the greens were in great condition.
The staff was also very pleasant.
I will play here more than once next time we are here.
