Indian River in October

Very nice course. Pretty lake views, Difficult rolling greens. Price (via golf now) was unbelievably inexpensive!

A great design and a fair test.

I am a 12 handicap who enjoys playing new courses. This course always challenges you with rolling fairways and sloping greens which were very fast this week. A must play
in the Columbia S.C. area.

Approach (shot) with caution

We enjoyed the front nine at Indian River GC. Tee shots and fairways are relatively open. The challenge here is the greens. They are fast and true, but the pin positions require paying attention on your approach. The course was uncrowded on a Fall Sat afternoon. This is one of the nicer courses for daily play near Columbia. Due to hilly terrain and distance from green to tee, it is not ideal for walking.

Great greens.

Greens were in excellent shape, very fast and large, multi tiered so you better be on the correct level. Fairways and rough were OK. Back nine had all trees lining fairways cut down and piled up between fairways.
When I checked in as golfnow customer, was asked a lot of questions about how much I paid, etc. Even though there were only 4-5 cars in the parking lot, he didn't want me to play by myself. I felt like he didn't want me to play there if I didn't pay full price.

The course is in near perfect shape.

The course is in as good shape as it has ever been in and I first played there over 20 years ago. The issue was the speed of the greens and didn't help that the holes were placed on slopes on most holes. Defensive putting was a requirement. Everything else was just perfect. Overall was a great experience. Just wish the greens were a bit more forgiving.

i loved the way they cleared out the back nine

greens were in good condition but some very difficult pin placements. greens also have a lot of undulations making putting very hard. stay below the pins

Scenic and the greens were true.

Interesting that the course management let a fivesome on during labor day weekend. They seemed angry that a twosome would want to play through. Put a damper on the day. Other than that we had a great time and the location is terrific for Columbia with an out in the woods feel.
