Golf in January
Being from up north, and I can head to Florida and get around the golf in. I’m happy. The staff at Rio Pinar was excellent. Unfortunately the condition of the golf course was terrible that includes from tea to green and everything around it. Trees need to come down and all the roots with it. very good chance you can hurt yourself if you’re not paying attention
Fabulous course terrible pace of play
We played on a Monday. 5 hours and 12 minutes for a round of golf is brutal! Course is great however nonoff course amenities. Restaurant is closed and pro shop had a couple drinks that was it no food.
Slow Play
Pace of play way too slow. It took us over 5 hours to play 18 holes. It seemed the course was overbooked.
Great track went downhill after the remodel
So i write this review after 2 5:30 rounds with in 2 weeks of each other. Lets start with the fact they can't keep the their tee sheet straight and is always backed up. This passed Sunday i had booked a 9:32 tee time when my guest got the he was told that it was at 9 :16. so he called me i was 2 mins away it was 8:58 . i had planed to hit the range first so when my guest came to pick me up in the parking lot to load up and go pay as we approached the club hoise he said " hurry up your next and was waving us to move on( man with red sweater). Because im honest I said I should probably go pay first. . He said you need to hurry then i explained to him that my tee time was at 9 32 and showed him the email confirmation that i received from them. so I will be there in a second. I hate to go out cold without a few swings on the range. .Then course conditions the worst i ever seen there. Just throwning out there but till your greens heal a bit stop changing pin position every few day. let us have a chance for one nice green on the coarse. Then where is the ranger for the pace of play. we had a 4 in front of us with young younger adults playing from the yellow(6600 + yard) we where watching them tee off 2 times a hole because not a single one if them could get a ball in the fairway or in play or oass the red tees. Too many great golf courses in orlando to deal with a mismanaged facility. Its a true shame this used to be one of my favorite tracks do to the history of the feild.
Course played in under 4 hours in good shape staff was very friendly
Increasingly disappointing
I have been golfing this course for a few years now and I have always been impressed especially when the improvements began. I understand when a course increases rates to cover cost of improvement. What I don’t understand is the massive over-booking RP has been doing over the past few months. It’s impossible to play a 3.5-4 hr round with all the booking going on.
On top of that the rates are higher than they ever been but I am no longer seeing the benefits for the cost. From about 11:00 AM on there is a line waiting for carts. My previous few rounds (except for yesterday) started about 45 min late.
They used to sell a couple different sizes of range buckets which has decayed into charging a $10 flat rate to fight over who gets balls from a community basket which is the equivalent of a huge bag of shag balls. The final disappointment of my last round for a while at RP was being told to speed up our play in the middle of the 18th undoubtedly due to people awaiting carts due to massive overbooking. We had been on the heels of several groups of slow beginners for our entire round.
I have also seen several instances of five-somes being allowed and that is unacceptable. Those are typically compromised of younger players, still learning the game, and never being educated on the rules and courtesies by the staff.
Time to tighten it up RP…. You were my fav place to play.
Field conditions
The field in general has to be fixed. The greens and fairways grass have to be repaired.
Great staff
Our group had a great time starting with the pro shop hospitality to the cart staff, starter and ending with the cart staff picking up the cart from our vehicle
Worth the experience!!!!!
16 holes in 5 hours
Very friendly staff, but unfortunately no marshall to check the playing time. We startet at 1:40 and could not finish.
The condition of the course could be better, but for the cheap greenfee ist was ok.
It’s winter golf right now could be better
It was a little slow but not that bad greens were okay tee boxes needed some rest. Happy to have played golf
Good course in good condition
I have played here before and had no problem returning. Friendly staff good practice facilities and a course with good range of tees in good condition
Winter time
Tight hard fairways. Some greens were having some sort if issue where patches were required. Tee boxes com. Beautiful club house and locker rooms. Super friendly staff. Good price.
