Fairways were bare of grass in many areas, the golf carts have ridiculous restrictions on their operation, the golf cart screen randomly emitted irritating beeps and froze up, the course was oversold and running behind on the tee times, the cart girl was absent until the eighth hole, and the overall experience wasn’t very good.

On the plus side, they did call to say they were running behind, the staff was pleasant, and we were paired with a pleasant visiting coulple.

Please read the entire review - -The day prior to my tee time I played a nearby course (Stoneybrook East - nice course) when my playing partner advised me to cancel my Rio Pinar reservation. Why? He played 3 times and had at least a 30 minute delay each time plus a slow pace of play.

I arrived 40 minutes prior to my tee time to be advised they had a 30 minute delay. 30 minutes later it became a 50 minute delay. Ended about 1 hour delay. Management allowed an un-booked group of at least 5 threesome's of "pro" players to tee off the back nine. These "pros" took 2 hours 30 minutes to play the back !!! - - while 40 golfers with tee times sat around waiting 1 hour for them to finish the back and tee off on #1. No one apologized or offered any special deal for us to waste 1 hour of OUR time - - until I complained to the manager.

On a positive note - the manager refunded my fees without an issue. They were having new carts delivered this week and a new Trackman range open soon. Bottom line - clubs cannot simply tell 40 golfers to wait around for 1 hour -- we all have cell phones and they have our numbers to send a text message -- and allow the players to decide to go or cancel.

Rio Pinar has been putting a lot work into improving the course. The conditions continue to get better and the layout provides a great challenge. Some of the fairways are in rough shape, but the greens were great.

The couse was in fair shape. The greens were all brown and alot of green sand on them. Was disappointed on how bad it looked compared to other years i played the course. It was very slow over s 5 hr round.

Came to Florida for a four-day vacation golfed at RioPinar staff was very friendly and helpful. The food and spirits in the bar were excellent. can’t wait to go back.

We had a great time playing this course, the staff was super friendly and the Resturant/bar was fantastic. One of the best lunches I've ever had at a public course. Cart girl was there every time we turned around. The course is under light repair in spots but over all it was a great experience. I will be back.

Course was in good shape. Need more carts. Played here last year and we waited for carts as well. Today was 20 mins. We play again though.

No carts available, waited 45 minutes, then went in and cancelled round.

We play this course every year and we like the improvements . Still a bit of work to do but definitely on the right track..

Very fair course; mostly wide fairways; played from the white tees and from an avg golfer perspective this was more than enough distance. Black and gold tees way back... but don't even attempt to play from there unless your shooting consistently in the 70s.

Only 2 holes where water comes in; broke 100 in my first round of the year. On vacation from New England and will definitely play again. Very nice restaurant and decor in lobby all fancy.

Course is in terrible shape! Fairways are dirt. Golf carts wheels almost coming off. Bunkers a mess no sand. Clubhouse beautiful and redone. Driving range will be awesome. Staff was great. Just course is a MESS. Great layout but course a mess!!!!

Rio is slowly getting better, just a bunch of small things that are weird.

Pros

- excellent layout for an easy afternoon out

- course has a lot of new developments happening

Cons

- literally no carts available. There was a line multiple groups long to wait to get a cart.

- when asking for a pull cart to walk, you could pay $40 to rent one. Excuse me? No place should have this policy.

- range closed when course open, no explanation

- turf in rough shape. (Better than it was)

- not worth the price they are asking (yet)
