Rio Pinar Golf

Course was a pleasant experience. We played as a twosome and had no delays in our 3.5 hour round. I will definitely be back.

The club has lots of memorabilia of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicolas, Gary Player and many moregreats of the past. Lots of money and work are being invested and made 5o bring this venue back to its former glory. The greens were good and the fairways were patchy in some areas. I love 5he layout. Very challenging. 8 will be back.

This course was <40$ on weekdays and <60 and weekends. I don’t see any improvements, other than no longer having a temporary green on hole 6. Paid an extra 30 dollars to have my wife ride along in the cart. I was completely okay with spending the extra money, BUT i got paired with an 8 year old girl that was playing a practice round for a tournament, and a father son duo. WHICH MEANS, i would’ve had my own cart anyways even if i came without my wife. Felt like a spit to my face since we needed 3 carts regardless for i was the last one to check in for our group. Would not pay 80$ to play here on saturday. Go play Mission Inn for some superior golf and amazing holes. Go play wedgefield for 48 for a 8am sunday for better golf. Rio should still be 50 at most.

Given the history, fun course to play. Grass was a little thin and lots of improvements going on. The historical photos in the clubhouse were fantastic. Greens were decent

I arrived and there were 10-15 people waiting for carts. My tee time was in 15 minutes and I was told there was a “slight back up.” The slight backup was really an hour behind schedule and it was already 3:30. It would have been nice to receive a call letting me know about the delay, so I could cancel before driving 25 minutes each way. They need to book their tee times further apart. Every hole was slammed.

Played 26, first 18 was a little slow, last 9 was more my speed. Greens were in pretty good shape, better than North Shore 2 days earlier. Good bit of construction on the range. Great local course.

I first played this course a year ago and it needed a lot of work. A few of the greens back then were in abominable condition. Now the greens are looking good, and the course overall is much improved. There were maintenance teams working on many of the holes while we played, and the new ownership definitely wants to make the course attractive and to keep it well maintained. The improvements to the driving range need a few more weeks and then it will have tracking capabilities. Greens fees are a little stiff now, but sadly in line with other courses.

Course is coming along and conditions are improving. They need to either quit overbooking tee times or get more carts. This is the second time in two weeks that I have had to wait more than 15 min for a cart, making me late to the first tee. Following this the starter told us that we should show up to the first tee on time, which almost sent me over the edge. Especially since I showed up to the course well over an hour before my tee time and had to wait an extended period of time to just get a cart.

Additionally, my cart died. When I tried getting another at the turn I was told that there were no more carts.

For the amount of money they are charging, this needs to be fixed ASAP. Unacceptable.

Golf course is really nice. $45 to $50 per round would be a better price for a round. Clubhouse staff are super nice and professional. $6 for a draft beer is beyond ridiculous, won’t be back to the clubhouse for sure.

The course held prestigious events but it suffered from a lack of maintenance and according to members we played with became run down. New investment in the clubhouse and course is ongoing.

It was in decent condition with greens, tees and bunkers all good. Fairways were a little patchy in places and parts of the course were a little wet.

Overall it was enjoyable.

Cool weather to start the round with the sun and warmer weather by the turn. Course was a little wet and we played lift clean and place. altogether the round was better than good and will come back again.
