Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

Fantastic course!
Incredible condition and course for any cost but the best value in the area. Technical and tight with a lot of challenging play.
Not For Me
This course should be renamed "Dogleg Park GC", I was not a fan of the design, there are too many blind shots.
I would not return but I think everyone should decide whether this course is for them or not. The tee boxes & greens were not in good condition and the fairways were average at best.
If you're thinking of playing this track for the first time, I would wait a couple of weeks and hopefully it will be in better condition.

The tee box and fairway is good condition but green is working on now. I think week or 2week later than geen is great

9 hole Rainout Update
Jon at Pohick contacted, explained how Hot Deals work from the course's POV. Afterwards I reached out to TeeOff directly and was issued a refund. I'm more than satisfied with the response & service I've received from Pohick Bay and TeeOff.
Note to TeeOff users:
Pursue a raincheck through TeeOff on all Hot Deals.

Course is very challenging. Enjoyed my experience and will definitely play again. Lots of “blind “ fairways so looking forward to next time now that I have a better idea of how to place shot making.

9 Hole Rainout
Average to slow pace of play through the front 9. At the turn a ;light drizzle turned into full-on rain. Course refused our request for 9 hole raincheck, suggesting it was up to TeeOff.com to provide such. Logging in, I read in the FAQs (on teeoff.com) something to the effect of: "Most courses will provide rainchecks if you have already checked in..." For the record we had already checked-in, as we had played 9 holes, however the young woman in charge that day at Pohick would not issue a simple raincheck because we had made the reservation (and paid) through TeeOff. If this matters to you, I suggest you avoid Pohick Bay.
The course manager has contacted me. He explained the way Hot Deals work from the course's POV. Since, I have contacted TeeOff (by phone). After verifying the rainout, they have issued a refund. I'm very surprised, and totally satisfied. Thanks to Jon at Pohick too. He wanted to make it right.
Note to TeeOff users... pursue rain checks on Hot Deals directly with TeeOff.

A good muni course
Pretty good course for the money. The condition was good, 4.5 hr pase of play on a sunday was not bad. I wish the greens were faster, but overall we had a fun day outthere.

Pohick - hot day, good pace, in good shape
It’s a tough little course that I always enjoy playing. I saw a lot of improvement on different holes - sod replacement, real sand in bunkers, greens in great shape.

Fun, challenging course
First time playing Pohick Bay. It’s a fun, short, but challenging course. I played on a weekday AM, and joined another single, who happened to be a member. I can’t attest to weekend pace of play, but we got around in about 2:45, without rushing at all. He was able to help me with course layout, distances, and some of the course nuances that only a person who has played there a lot would know, which helped quite a bit. Precise tee shots in both distance and accuracy were needed on many holes. Greens were very good. I will definitely play here again.

Pohick is a Va state course. It is well managed and challenging. Birdies are waiting - I had 3 yesterday!
