About
The Links at Victoria Golf Course has a convenient location in Carson that is easily accessible from the South Bay, downtown Los Angeles, or Orange County. William Bell, the mastermind who crafted the Torrey Pines courses, also designed the Links at Victoria. The course has a traditional design that features wide, gently undulating fairways and large, well manicured greens. It's not an overly challenging course but there are some holes that will make you think and you'll find that accuracy and a good strategy are both generously rewarded. The wide-openness of the front nine provides a gentle start to the golf course while the tighter back mine presents greater challenges. It's a good round for learning beginners and more advanced golfers will find it to be a fun, quick round for an affordable price.

Really bad, but not as bad as people say
Don't get me wrong, this place is in really, really bad shape. Probably the worst conditions I've ever played in, similar to Camarillo Springs when I played their a little while back. The fairways were mostly awful, but the greens and tee boxes were not bad.
But here's the the thing. It cost $25 to walk the course, and it is playable if you move your ball to grass when it is sitting on dirt. It probably helps that it has rained recently, so there's some good grass around. Less than $1.50 a hole for some golf on a beautiful day, with almost nobody else on the course? I've done worse things for more money.
It's a shame they built it on an old landfill site that is such a mess and difficult to grow grass, but you can tell the course has good bones. From what I understand, this place is going to be shut down sometime this year, so I'm glad I went out, just so I can say I played it before it's gone forever.

Gone with the Wind
I am a golfer who doesn't offer complaints about much, yet this one has to be said.... Growing up in Carson, I remember the glory days of Victoria and the recent push for developers to purchase course for housing, after this round I must state, sell it!!!! The course has gone to the dogs or should I say the squirrels with no grass on fairways, squirrel holes everywhere, and simply no course maintenance. Respectfully, Golfnow should drop offering tee times because it is just a waste of time and money.....
I agree 100%. I can't believe Golf Now even offers tee times there. Obviously they have not been there or read the reviews from their customers.

Terribly maintained Fairways
Everything is hard dirt or mud if it rained recently. The greens aren’t terrible, but you will destroy those new clubs you want to break-in at this course if you don’t pick up your ball and move it to one of the few patches of green on the fairway. Pace was slow. Just a course that needs massive renovation and probably a new groundskeeper.

Straight Trash
Fairways are straight trash. You are playing off dirt. I will give them a pass for the lakes in the middle of the fairway due to the rain storm that came through during the week. Oh I almost forgot about the muskrats holes that are every where. I aced a par 5 250 yards from the tee box in one of the holes that was in the middle of the fairway.

Disappointed
Young man behind counter warned me before going out. Course scheduled to close. Fairways all dirt. Surprisingly greens were petty good. Sad it’s closing

Great practise round
I was warned by the staff about the condition of the fairways before I started and they were absolutely brutal. I did not even use my good golf balls due to scuffing and I thought I was going to rupture a kidney driving down the fairways. The tees were decent and most greens were totally fine. There were only 4 other golfers on the course and I was able to play 18 quickly. I only paid $20 with a cart so I enjoyed my round tremendously for the money. I hit some really nice long crisp irons because the compression off the rock hard fairways was tremendous. I hope my clubs are ok though. I highly recommend it for working on approach shots and putting.

Really poor course conditions
The fairways were extremely under kept. Saw more dirt on the fairway then grass. Only the staff was the best part of the course. 10/10 would NOT recommend a friend or even play this course again till the fairways are fixed. As an out of state visitor, was not impressed.

Shudder this course
It had been several years since playing here. I can’t believe it is even open for okay. This course is completely dirt, gopher holes, and a few mud puddles. There are no redeeming qualities. Absolutely will not return until the course has been repaired/ restored in the future.

Worse than you think should be zero stars...
Ok so the course is very close to unplayable. "Oh wow dirt in the fairways, gee that's ok I can hit off of dirt". WRONG...its full of holes and is very uneven with clumps of weeds. IF it was just bulldozed flat then at least you could try to ruin an old set of clubs by hitting off the dirt ...but nope you will lose balls in the center of fairways. "Well at least we get a cart and ride" WRONG...the course is so jacked up you cant drive a cart without hurting your back it's so so so very bumpy. "hey at least it's nice outside" WRONG...there is a horrible noxious smell that is around the course although it comes and goes when it's there it's bad, real bad. The pluses of the course are the greens which are ok and you can get times because it's horrible. "At least it's golf" WRONG...this challenges that notion. Hey play it and write your review, you will see.
Course should be for Practice only
Overall, it is what you expect from reading the reviews. Fairways are very rough so hard to play as the ball lies, but good practice for terrible lies on better courses. Luckily greens and tee boxes are in decent condition.
The course is supposedly set to be closed down so I guess the staff is preparing and not throwing any resources into the course.
Probably will not play here again if other courses are open.
