Victoria Golf Course

Fairways were 85% mud/dirt. Tee boxes were uneven and ragged. Bunkers had no sand; only rocks and pebbles. Greens were surprisingly in decent condition.

This is the only course where the driving range grass is much better than the fairway grass (if you could find grass). Greens were in good shape, but that's about the only good thing. We were a twosome stuck behind a foursome that wouldn't let us play through.

Found a last minute tee time on a Saturday afternoon for $40. I thought it was a good deal until I seen the course. I am not exaggerating it has to be the ugliest course in America. It was so bad I was in complete shock. They couldn’t pay me to play it again. It was like playing golf in the year 2520 and global warming has led to failing dystopian golf courses, only allowed to water when it rains, once every 10 years . It looked like a scene in the movie Mad Max. It was 80% hard pan dirt (in the fairways) , 5% green grass (mostly on greens), 15% dead grass. Invest in sprinklers? Looked like the groundskeepers quit in 1995. I will always read reviews before booking a new course going forward.

Greens super green but, slow, soft, and spongy. Fairways are 60% dirt. Par 3s are beautiful though.

I thought LA County might improve this place after the drought (their former excuse). It’s been let go to waste. It’s not a real course. Fairways are dirt, weeds, and patches of something like grass. Not a place you’d want to spend your money on.

For all of those critics complaining about dirt, there is no question fairways are compromised. I've played there for years with 1 rule agreed amongst my group: move the ball to nearest patch of grass. Problem solved.

Victoria is always a last minute goto place to play. Don't expect country club conditions. Just expect a very good layout and pretty darn good greens.

Unfortunately the ground there never supported good grass. Believe me theyve tried with an almost a full year shutdown and complete refit a decade ago which only lasted a few years before going back to the old Vic.

If you need to play golf in a pinch, be glad there's a Vic close by to fill your void.

Came here knowing what I was getting myself into. If you can play here, you can shine anywhere else. Course can use a major overhaul, don’t mind the course if the rates were way way lower. Never lost so many balls all at once.... I’ll blame that on my lack of skill.... will I be coming back, most definite.

Not sure if it's due to Covid, but this course is in horrible condition. There are no fairways, just patches of dirt.. the bunkers are filled with rocks and it feels like you're hitting out of concrete.. tee boxes are filled with divots.. no yardage marks.. it's just horrible. I recommend they shut this course down for some serious repairs/quality control. The only bright spot were the greens and fringe were in decent condition. I'd rather play Encino/Balboa/Wilson/Harding tenfold.. Not worth the time and money. Sorry

Myself and some friends tried this course for the first time. The layout of the course is cool, however between the gopher mounds everywhere and the dirt fairways was disappointing. The only decent part of the course were the greens. The rough was more green than the fairways. This course has potential but definitely needs maybe some seeding and water! And a bill Murray type character to get rid of the gophers! Seriously though if they set off explosives in the ground there’s a chance you may not notice.Unless that’s addressed I will not go back to play again.

Honestly frustrating paying money to really never have a chance to hit a second shot from anyway . There’s hardly any fairway and it’s mostly dirt. If this course was well-maintained it could easily be one of the nicer courses around LA but it’s not. Sand traps have rocks and it’s packed down and just no chance to hit a good shot out of the bunker either.

Greens were in great shape and the practice range had great grass but not the course

Staff was very friendly and they have a bar and shop. But this course does not allow you to drive your cart to your car which is very inconvenient. The fairway and course in general is in terrible shape. There is more dirt, mud and gopher holes than actual grass. I will never play here again unless they do a complete landscape makeover. It made it driving the cart very bumpy and things would literally fall out of our carts.

$40 for those fairway conditions is a little steep.

The golf course needs a major overhaul. Fairway is completely damaged beyond repair. The was not a single fairway with enough grass to hit a ball. After teeing off the ball just ended up on a hard dirt surface. I hope the management will shut down the course and completely overhaul the course.

I would say about 40% of all fairways is barren dirt, no grass. If you can hit the ball decently, the landing areas for a par 4 or par 5 is guaranteed to be barren the entire width of the fairway. They have holes that aren’t labeled, so going from the green of one hole to the tee of the next is a crapshoot if it’s the right one. And they charged $40 for a course that isn’t 1/10th as good as some of the nearby small courses. Absolutely horrible and I would never go again.

Tee boxes were uneven, fairways were dirt, bunkers hard and greens were horrible. Nobody fixes divots there. Snackbar closed at the turn. Tons of tee times available.. now you know why.

I played this course because it was the only course with tee time available on a Saturday morning. Once I got there I realized why there were no other takers. The course is very poorly managed and grass was almost none existent on the fairways. Greens weren’t too bad but more than half the time I was hitting from the dirt to get there. The course needs to be taken over by a professional management team and a major upgrade is needed.
