Victoria Golf Course

The recent reviews are 100% accurate. The fairways are dirt and the rough is not cut. I would not play here.

The fairways are dead and they aren’t coming back, apparently the reclaimed water they have to use to water the course is brackish and kills the grass yeso the fairways are mostly dirt. You can tell the course was at some point nicely designed but that can’t overcome the complete lack of grass. Not many other people play so you’ll never have to wait at the tee box but I would not recommend this unless you are very skilled and have low standards.

Like golfing in the desert. No grass or any maintained playing surface (only patches) between the tee and the green. Ended up moving a lot of balls so as not to damage my clubs.

If you're planning on playing at The Links at Victoria, then you're in for a treat! The tee-box grass needs to be cut while at the same time, there's nothing to cut on the fairways. The greens are the only great take-away from this course and a couple of the back-9 holes are still in good condition and haven't been hit by the curse of the underground wasteland. The Course Layout has always been great, perfect driving holes and challenging distances for lower swing speed players. Very unfortunate that the groundskeepers have to face this problem but it's something that was bound to happen.

No secret Victoria's fairways need to be fixed. I overcome that by using a mat where there is no fairway grass. The greens and areas around the green are excellent. This makes pitching and chipping fun. Tees are good. There has been increased Mx staff and it has begun to show, the course conditions are getting better. Traffic is light so pace of play is really good. I can play 18 holes in under 2 hours. If you are looking for a relaxed practice round, Victoria is an excellent place to do that. They also charge less than the other closeby munis because of the fairway conditions. It is a real bargain.

All the fairways are without grass. They’re all covered with dirt and mud and bumpy. Ended the round extremely sore because of the bumpy fairways. Will never play there again.

Many of the courses are dirt grounds without grass. I can't really call there a golf courses. I stopped to play halfway.

My home course. Fairways are super rough (lots of dirt and mud) but it has a good layout and great staff. Fun to play and have a beer. Grat value during twilight rates.

This is not a golf course, Bare grounds on most of fairways. Do not recommend to play here. No course condition management.Not sure why this course is listed as golf course.

Greens and tee boxes are kept in great shape. Everyone knows the fairways are probably the worst in the state. Use Vic as a practice course since it’s never busy. You can replay certain holes, hit a few extra balls and move your ball into some fairways grass (if you can find some). Staff is a cool and always almost apologize for the fairways but nothing they can do since the former landfill doesn’t allow grass to grow properly. You can also find balls in the fairways since it’s basically as camouflage landscape. Who would play with Pro Vs here?

The course has a nice layout and the green are in very good shape. Unfortunately the fairways have 20% coverage. It was built on a former landfill and they did not prepare the soil properly so no grass grows in the fairways. Could be a nice course if they could fix this but this will only be a last resort for us moving forward.

The course is just as bombed out as the last time I played it, but I still keep going back- either because I can’t afford to play at a nice course or because it’s conveniently located and easy to book. Rule 16 has to be applied to every hole. To be fair, the greens are pretty good and the tee boxes are shaggy, but grass covered. The fairways are an embarrassment to the very idea of golf. The “most fun you can have while angry” phenomenon is in full effect here. Play there, play angry, have fun, and bring a lot of extra balls.

I play Victoria 4 times a week, go out early, using my sr. discount card. People will think I'm crazy giving VIC 5 stars. Let me explain. The major problem is the fairway conditions. I overcome this using a mat which gives me a perfect lie when there is no grass nearby. Major problem eliminated. The greens and areas around the greens are excellent. Pitching, chipping conditions all excellent. Tees are also very good. VIC's layout is probably the best of any muni course in the south bay. There are multiple sets of tees on every hole and we pick the ones most fun or us to play. When I play, there is nobody in front or behind us, we can play18 holes in about 2 hours. VIC provides discounts beyond just my sr card because of the fairways, so it is extremely affordable. We don't worry about getting an early tee time. I don't use the driving range but many people do. For $56 a month, people get to hit 3 large buckets a day, what a deal. The staff knows us well and treats us extremely well. Hence, my 5 star rating.

I have not played a worse golf course in 40 years of playing, Like nothing even comes close. This is not a golf course, it is a WWII battlefield. Would honestly not play if it was free, PLEASE don't waste your time.

The staff is always nice and friendly. No carts due to maintenance issues. Fairways have little grass and many dirt patches. The tees and greens are always in good shape. Still walked the round in 3.5 hours. Not crowded and some challenging holes make it a fun time.
