Zellwood Station & Country Club
About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

Hole # 10 Photo submitted by webelos on 11/17/2013
Just Ok
The course had more rough spots than good spots - the tee boxes and the first cut/rough around the greens were especially bad. Pace of play was on the slower side, but not terrible I guess. Staff was very friendly, including the bartender. May play again in the future, but wouldn't be in a hurry with the other options in the area.
Value Course, Great Customer Service!
I play here all the time and from tee to green the conditions are good( not great) but for the price a great deal! Greens are pretty good, some tee boxes need some TLC.
The best thing to note is the customer service from Terry in the pro shop. She is an exceptional asset to Zellwood and all of my friends who come there say the same. A great representation for the course and wish all courses could have an employee to greet players like she does! Kudos to Zellwood for hiring top notch customer service personnel!
Good
Usually great play for a beginner like me. This past time there was a league play with a few large groups and got stuck behind them and they wouldn’t let my three guy group play through. It took 6 hours to play 18. First time this had happened to us. Won’t stop is from going back
Good value
Overall solid course.
Pros; Fun layout with interesting holes, especially for the price. Greens for the most part well maintained, fast, and play with break.
Cons: Course layout a little short, little reason to use irons if have a reliable driver. By far the worst part of this course is the grass around the greens, or lack there of. The grass is so patchy and sandy it creates essentially a bunker like chip anywhere near the green.
Pace of play
Course allowed fivesomes to play together. Took 5 hours to play 18 with a three someone, waited every hole. Will not recommend or go back. Golf Now should vent these courses. Drove an hour to get there and an hour to get home. Ended up to be 8 hours for a round of golf on a Tuesday morning. Not a good look for Golf Now.
Not up to their par
have been playing here for a number of years and the first time the course was in marginal shape. The pro shop staff was friendly and helpful. however, the grill staff was quite disinterested in even waiting on our group. Nothing like previous experiences.
Great course
As always, great course. Don’t rely on them having any food products. This is the fourth time they shut down food for the whole day leaving the boys stranded for the rest of the day on a 11 a.m. tee time…
Slow pace, no starter to stagger
Thin fairways, difficult course to play but very slow. Ton of hills which don’t allow you to see when to tee off. Got hit into a few times
Awesome value!
A very challenging golf course. I would recommend Zellwood station to everyone.
Challenging
This course provides for a challenging round of golf. The course has everything; water, elevation changes, undulating greens, and hazard areas. The greens can be very tough depending on the location of the pin that day. The tee box, fairways, and greens were all in good conditions. Get out of the fairway and you may be hitting from rough, loose sand, hardpan, or tree roots. I enjoyed the challenge.
The course is challenging
Well maintained, friendly staff and very affordable
Excellent!!!!!
Everything was great ... Greens, Fairways a 5 Star Course!!!!
