About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

Refund
It was raining the day of my tee time and I called 4-5 times trying to reach someone and no one answered at the desk. Website said it was still open. I ended up driving there and the front security gate tenant said they were closed. I tried to refund my golf now reservation and did not have the availability to do that. Not a good experience!!
No Starter led to tee off confusion/pace problems but course well kept
There was no starter, and there were about 8 carts hanging around by Tee 1. I waited about ten minutes or so past my tee time so as to not 'jump ahead' of someone and no one went. After the first hole, was stuck behind a twosome that was very unskilled, taking 10+ strokes, often hitting it 10-20 yards only. Hole 5 was impossible to see the fairway from the tee or walking 30+ yards. Ended up hitting into a twosome after waiting five minutes and just teeing off. The fairways, bunkers and greens were kept surprisingly well. The greens were a bit fast for some reason. Overall great value for the money. Staff was nonexistent/unhelpful but i guess you get what you pay for.

All round very good experience. Greens were quick with some challenging pin positions.

Really nice conditions
The course is in the best condition that I have played it since living in Fl. Fairways are plush and you can tell that the greens crew has put alot of time to smooth out fairway to cart path areas. Greens are always pretty fast and good shape. Occasional sand crane issue but cannot fault the course staff for natural habitant. For the price, its a must play course and very underestimated on the radar of central Florida courses.

Okay
Majority of the course was good. There were some bad t-boxes. Most of the greens were okay. Seen the course in better shape. Still would consider coming back, probably call prior to booking to get the skinny for the day of play.

Borderline.
Both the greens and fairways were good with some bad spotty patches. Needs care now before the bad areas spread.

Zellwood
Zellwood was a pleasant surprise. I live about 20 miles away and haven't played it yet,so my first time around was fun. I was 2nd tee time off so finished in 237. Fairways were in good conditions, the greens were very fast and firm,really nice. The layout was hilly and a bit tricky for a newbie, but I will be back.

It has been a while!
It’s been a few years since playing Zellwood and I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised. The course although had been aerated a few days before, was in great condition! From tees to greens I can’t find a single complaint. Friendly attendant and starter as well. We definitely be back!!
