About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

Better conditions than last few years
The tee blocks and the greens were upgraded by a large amount. The fairways were okay. The bunkers remain a bit poor. Overall this is a fun layout and a good value for the money. I play this track 2-3 times a year.
Can't wait to get back
So happy with our day. Starting with Derrel in the pro shop. The only small small negative about this golf course was the little delay we had before our tee time. They said they had a tournament that wasn't over yet so we had to wait a little. Really wasn't a big deal.
Played with 2 older gentleman Richard and Dan who were members . Always fun to play with members. They help you as you go along. Anyway as for the golf let's just say I preach fairways and greens fairways and greens as long as those two are ok well then the course will be fine. They were both perfect. The back nine has some amazing holes from 12 to 16 where it has a sign that says stay away from the craters. You will have to play it to understand. I loved everything about this place. I am vacationing from Canada for the winter and playing mostly Golfnow courses. Well so far hands down my favorite so far . By a longshot. Very enjoyable course & staff
I enjoy this course and recently (jan./feb 2023 ) they have done a great job of tending to the fairways and greens. Best Ive seen in a long time.The course itself is fair but challenging .I enjoy most of the staff friendly and professional..
While I do not live on the course,I Consider it my home course ..play abouy 3 times a week..certainly would recommend It .

7 minutes between tee times means slow play
guys rather than thank people for their review when they give negatives why not do something about it.
speed of play is too slow so change your tee times to 9 minutes and make it a pleasent experience.

Overbooked and slow
I have played Zellwood before and had a pretty enjoyable day. This time around the course was clearly overbooked. Showed up for our 11:47 tee time and there were no carts. Took about a 20 minute delay so not terrible. The pace of play was very slow. Too many golfers searching for lost balls, no consideration for players behind them, etc. The course should take 3 1/2 to 4 hours with a cart to play at most. We were closer to 5.
The course itself was in good shape. Nice greens and fairways. It is an oddball layout using some unusual terrain but that makes it interesting.
On an average weekday or off peak time it is definitely more enjoyable. We played on a weekend with beautiful weather at a high price point. Do yourself a favour and play when it is much quieter.

Ok course, bad staff
The course itself is what you can expect for $16 cart included, but the staff was very unfriendly. I played with a couple other people in the evening (4:30) knowing that we weren’t going to be able to finish 9 holes. Regardless, $16 is $16 and being on vacation from Wisconsin, a few holes of golf sounded fun. The guy who was working at the cart shop was very upset that he had to do his job and wait until we were done with our carts, making remarks both before and after we were out on the course.

Good course for the price
Overall fun course and decent conditions. However, the rate of play when I was there was beyond ridiculous. I'm a very laid back person and I don't usually get upset by that stuff as everyone paid to be there and deserves to enjoy themselves. But it reaches a point where people need to get going. I wish there had been a ranger out there making people pick up the pace. But the course was great for the price and a great mix of challenging holes and easier ones.

Average
Experience was average, disappointed when I was charged taxes even though I paid all taxes and fees to Golfnow! I even showed my receipt from golfnow to no avail!

Enjoyable Day
I enjoy playing this course on most days. The pace of play can be a little on the slow side if you are behind a group of resident owners.

Great Course-Great Layout-Fantastic Staff
The course has challenges, but the risk is worth the reward. Each hole is in very good shape and the greens run true. The Club House staff is extremely helpful and exceeded our expectations. Dining at The Whistle Stop after the round was great, the food and the service was really appreciated. We plan on enjoying Zellwood Station again in the near future.
