About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

Course in poor condition
Zellwood Station has always been a good course in decent condition. But the last two times we played there the tee boxes were in terrible shape. The fairways full of weeds. This recent visit the pro shop reaked of cigarette smoke, and the cart girl was rude. She didn't have anything we wanted to drink and waived her off. As she drove off she made rude comments. What we wanted to drink is sold in the pro shop, but not on her cart.

Won’t Be Back For a While
Starter allowed a large group (who were late to show) to back up everyone else’s tee times. It took 3 hours to play 10 holes before the rain started. This course is not worth that kind of time or frustration. We did at least get a 9 hole rain check, although I don’t plan to use it. Disappointing round to say the least.
The starter at Zellwood that ive interacted with is nothing more than the typical old territorial "member" who thinks he actually matters...

Great condition
Maybe recent rains helped, but the course was in great shape. Really enjoyed playing there again.

Disappointed
The greens are a mess. Had many out hit a bump/hole and jump more than abs inch in air and go of track.
Pace of play was beyond slow

aeration two weeks ago. Tee box, fairways and greens all in good shape. Bunkers nice. Pace of play was good. Thoroughly enjoyed around.

Nice Course, Not so nice staff
Typical Hot and Humid, but the course is fun. The greens had recently been aerated but quite acceptable considering they are recovering. Fairways in generally nice shape. Overall very good as usual.
The only gripe was the gruff pro Shop worker. i seriously hope hes not the pro as he was just the typical loud blowhard, borderline rude.
An offputting person to be the 1st face you speak to you at the course.
The restaurant staff were great though, complete opposite, always friendly.

Great and Challenging Course
Zellwood Station is a wonderful layout and each hole has its own challenges. To be successful you need to play from the fairways, ending up in the rough can cause the dreaded bogie or worse… the course is well maintained and the staff is professional and friendly. The pace of play was excellent.

Wished I had known
Had to play the back nine twice. Everything had been aerated. Booked on Golf Now and no mention of these condition. Management stated that they had told Golf Now the restrictions and conditions. Very disappointed. Drove 40 miles each way plus tolls. I expected more!!!
