About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

Stuck
I added this course last minute to try new courses in the area. I showed up and was told I would be playing solo and to go when I was ready. I got to the first tee and was behind a couple. They let me play through on the 2nd hold. I was going along well for 2 holes when things slowed to a crawl. Apparently I caught up with a small tournament of about 4 or 5 foursomes. The first ones let me play through but I caught up with the other groups on the next hole. I was waiting almost 5 minutes for each shot. I was near the clubhouse and decided to go see if I could bypass these groups and play on 10. I was told no because there were groups making the turn. At the time, there was no one on the tee box. by the time I was finished talking to the 'starter' a foursome came up from 9. I was a single and could have easily played and been out of their way before they noticed. I ended up leaving and will never return due to the poor management. I only played 4 holes and it took over an hour as a single.

Zellwood
Overall it is a great course to play. The hills make more challenging than the normal flat Florida courses. Staff was friendly and polite. The price was pretty good considering the time of season it is. One of my favorites now.

One Blind Shot After Another
I didn’t use the driving range. The practice green was a little diseased on the one side. The cart had no GPS or USB, but it was in good condition. The staff was very friendly. Then there’s the course. Probably half the tee shots are blind. The course is very hilly, which l usually like, but there are so many blind shots. The greens on the front 9 had spotty disease. The back 9 were better, as were the holes more playable visually. They rolled at a medium pace at best. The tee boxes were ok, occasionally spotty. The fairways were actually a little fluffy. The rough was simply what ever was growing. The traps were fine. It felt like a sand-soft dirt mix. Pace of play was another issue. Painfully slow. A staff member told me the other day the first group out played in 5 (yes 5) hours… It’s a 55+ community. And it plays like one. All in all, l liked the course layout, but all the blind shots made it play harder than the yardage should have. And forget walking it unless you are above average in physical fitness.

I booked as a single and when I got there the threesome I was to play with found a fourth.So I played as a single. That is fine for practice but not that much fun. Waited on every shot.

Great Local Track for the Money!
This is the closest course to my house and for the money brings a great value. I love Golf Now as well because if not for GN, I’d probably not play it near as often as the staff will not let you call in a tee time anymore. You must book online only which I know many clubs are going to but I just don’t like not having the options. Good course layout and fairly well maintained!

Not sure who you spoke to, but we just called up today (12/3/21) and were able to book a tee time no problem at all.
A lovely lady took care of it for us, so im not sure what happened for you, but try again..
starter mgmt
when we met the starter, he said we were next after the group treat hadn’t teed off yet there wasn’t anyone else waiting. When the group got on the tee box there was 5 of them. we waited on 18 holes. 5 hours. Not a good thing, but after driving 45 min. we weren’t going to leav.e.
