About
A 238-yard par 3, a 259-yard par 4, a treacherous hole called the "Train Wreck" and a five-hole stretch around a cavernous dry lake dubbed "Crater Junction" all help make the semi-private Zellwood Station Golf Club unique. Featuring hilly terrain not often seen at Florida golf courses, the George Maddox design, which opened in 1974, is a challenge. Located about 30 minutes from Orlando, Zellwood Station G.C. is known to be in good shape, especially the greens.

I was blown away not only at how friendly the staff was but also the regulars who Golfnow there on a weekly basis. Super super super quiet and one heck of a challenge. Greens in great shape but the fairways are a solid B+.

Great track
Challenging course with lots of hills and blind shots. Greens in great shape and fairways well maintained. Not a lot of scenery but the course is very fun.

Awesome but....
Awesome course! Course in great condition but today was HOT!
It would have been nice to know that the clubhouse closed at 5pm and no Powerade or water avail to purchase.
Plus need to adjust sprinkler times as sprinklers went off right after we teed off on 18.

Zellwood
Greens need work. Fun track. Be ware of the Train Wreck and the Crater. Several blind shots.

Tricky
Great course, very tricky layout. A lot of blind shots up and over hills. If you’ve never played this course, take a ride up and peek where flag is before tee off. !! Oh - and make sure to avoid “The Crater”.......
The course is in a 55+ Community and all the “locals” are very friendly and helpful, unlike some other same style courses......

The greens needed a lot of work. A lot of bare spots. The fairways were very dry and hard. At times it was like hitting off of cement.

Not worth it
Actually, I've played wotse courses, and the staff weren't as unfriendly as others have stated. But pace was horrific. This course and others like it that can't manage their tee times well are the reason golf is a dying sport. Teed off 20 minutes late. Waited every hole, couldn't finish 18. Probably doesn't help that it is 55 and older community. But that leads back to good management. If the concept of time is important to you, don't play this course.

The pace of play was very slow I believe it was over booked
