The Lakes at El Segundo

I played the old course many times, but don't like this newer version.

Here are my observations and reasons:

1. LOUD music playing everywhere. I don't live my life with headphones and not why I play golf.

2. Several grasses throughout the course. Not well maintained. Erratically cut.

3. Greens are very slow and mildly bumpy.

Overall a poor experience.

I will give them a month to get the opening conditions corrected, if not better, I wouldn't play again.

I have been waiting for Top Golf and the Lakes to re-open. The staff was terrific; Art walked me to the First Tee, gave me the lay of the land, and let me play. I was fortunate enough that the paired group was delayed; I played alone and enjoyed it. You top it off; I shot +2 on the ten holes.

P.s. The greens are immaculate. And note to all players, fix your divots.

Course is in phenomenal shape considering how the course was before being bought by TopGolf. Hole 10 video only worked for half of our 4some which is a bit of a bummer but it was still a fun chipping course

I haven't played The Lakes @ El Segundo in years and when Top Golf was under construction, I thought this par 3 course was going away.

It's back, new, in great shape and a fun course to master your 9, pitch and putting over 10 holes. Yes, 10 holes. The 10th hole has Top Tracer technology attached and you get a video of your shot as a parting gift. Enjoy!

If you've played the Lakes before it was reconfigured, you may be disappointed that there is no hole much over 100 yards. The two long holes are no more. Hole 3 has a tee box that changes daily. On the day we were there it was maybe 60 yards and not over the lake. Some days it's a bit longer and directly over the lake to the new green.

There is a brand new hole, #9, behind the screen from the Top Golf driving range and the tenth hole has video tracing just like on TV which records your shot to the new green, perhaps 100 yards. After playing, you can scan a QR code outside the clubhouse and share the link that you're provided.

As a senior, I paid $19 to play. It formerly cost about the same. The course is in great shape and they measure the holes daily with correct distances at the tee box.

Top golf made this course such a fun one to play! 10 Par 3 holes with Top Tracer on the last hole. Unfortunately my shot didn't track but was still exciting! Course is well kept and greens were pure! I would definitely play here again!

Love the improvements made at this golf course. They've added a new water feature and made the overall experience more modern. The 10th hole has an awesome video tracking your swing and ball trajectory.

Played this course for many years before the turnover to Top Golf. They have shortened the holes and they just aren't that interesting. You cannot get through on the phone to make a tee time, so you either have to drive there in person to get a tee time, or pay $2.50 per person on line for "convenience". No food available until 10am. Price seems high for the experience.

Great shape, played during the week so wasn’t crowded. 10th hole track an was cool.

Bartender at 19th hole was exceptional.
