About
The 18-hole Eagle's Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1998. Designed by Davis Love III, Eagle's Pointe measures 6,738 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 72.5 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
The hallmarks of Eagle's Pointe are its classical, risk-reward design, natural beauty, strategy, variety and superb conditioning, along with outstanding customer service.
Winding through stands of moss-draped live oaks and pines and fresh-water wetlands and lagoons, Eagle's Pointe Golf Club's spacious corridors allow the golfer to keep driver in hand, while its dramatic bunkering, unique green sites and contoured putting surfaces combine to create one of the most exciting venues in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Course maintenance lacking. Mow tee boxes and greens are in bad condition.

Garbage
Greens LOADED WITH POA ANNUA and literally, un-puttable. Fairways only thing decent.

Greens need Attention
This is a beautiful course and nice layout. Staff was super friendly. The course was in good shape other than the greens, which were all affected by some type of broadleaf infestation. It was virtually impossible to have a putt stay on line as they bounced over the numerous imperfections. This is a wonderful course that just needs to do some serious greens repair.
Will try again next year, as I really like this course.

Greens were full of invasive grass.
Seemed like nice layout with chsllenging holes, but greens were pretty much un-puttable due to some kind of grass that was 1/4 inch longer than the other grass. Even a 5 footer required good luck in order to avoid being sent off line by the tufts of green grass sticking up. If it was cut, things would have been much better. I guess you get what you pay for.

Eagle's Pointe
Loved the layout of the course. Great scenery and wildlife. Greens were suffering from poana (?) weed which made for very rough conditions. Course staff advises this will go away with warmer weather. Sand traps lack sand and appear to be not maintained whatsoever. With some course maintenance this could be a five star experience!

All greens need to be totally replaced
The greens on this course need to be totally replaced/repaired. A virus of some sort has infected every square inch of all their 18 greens. The greens were impossible to putt on. A golfer cannot control his/her speed of their ball, or its direction, and furthermore their are small weed patches growing out all over these greens!
All their greens were also artificially colored treated to make them appear “green”!?
The practice putting green was in this “fake” condition as well…should have realized that all future 18 greens to be played, would be in the same condition too.
Eagle’s Pointe greens need total replacement, not treatments, or patchwork. Paid $55/round/golfer for a total of $220.00 (made/paid 4 reservations..3+1...also received a separate survey for the 1 additional round reservation I made, at that time (2:12pm) as well). Should not have paid even half of that $220.00 amount. A $140.00 total credit should be returned to me (in all good conscious) at a minimum. Current/honest course conditions should be continually updated and supplied to golfers via GolfNow (by reviewers/players/course employees). The Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club pro shop, starter, ranger, and cart attendants, never said a word about these abhorrent greens, and most likely were internally embarrassed, and didn’t care to say anything, when we arrived for our tee time….meaning we were completely misled regarding Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club course/green conditions.
Lastly, our foursome, realized these green conditions have had to be in this poor shape, for at least 3-4 months. It seems Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club doesn’t know when/how to phase/start these green replacements, and are sacrificing very very poor golf (green) conditions, for the sake of continuing their revenue stream. Lastly, this is a
Davis Love III signature and sponsored golf course.
His name is listed on the entrance gate sign, in the pro shop, and throughout the golf course. He should know, and be totally embarrassed to be associated with a course in this current condition, and should encourage Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club to do something about it (immediately)!

Maybe it’ll be better later in the year
Greens were bad. There’s no other way to say it. Maybe they’ll will be better in a few weeks, but that’s not when I played.
Had to wait on every tee box. That is supper annoying.

Course layout was good but the greens/bunkers/tees were terrible. Like they hadn’t been taken care of for a year!

I used to lik3this course
Previously I thought of this course as a bargain and a course that was in shape better than similarly prices courses.
I learned that they have a new owner, someone who doesn’t play golf. The course looks lik3 they are mowing it but they fairways were green with weeds, the greens were unspeakable, the traps were unrated. Some held water, and it hasn’t been raining. I am sad to write this one off,

The greens are terrible, the pro shop person was very unfriendly, but the starter was good.

I figured out why it was so cheap to play, as the greens, bunkers and tee boxes were the worst I’ve ever played.
It’s not worth playing at any price.

Cool morning round
Greens in terrible shape and bunkers were more mud than sand. Tee boxes were very poor and makers had not been moved for a day or two.

Greens and sand traps were in poor shape. Weeds prevalent in every green which was disappointing for this area.
