Value for money
Good layout, fairways and greens were ok. Will continue to improve as they fill in
Course has potential
Davis Love III design makes me wonder if he would be happy with this course? Nice layout but fairways aren’t too great. Greens are a bit weedy. Traps have rakes on a few of them. My GPS was wrong because they changed the front and back nines. Bar was nice but very limited service. Few sandwiches already made up in refrigerator. Hot dogs on a roller,I had ask for tongs? Stale hot dog buns. Looking something to eat after a round you best go down the road. Price was good for Hilton Head but I probably wouldn’t go back. Course needs to get together with owners and start to make changes.
Ok course but good value for the area
Course much improved over the last 5 years — best condition I have seen it in some time.
Play was a bit slow but there was a beginner in group ahead of us — took a lot of swings to hit the ball.
Prices to play anywhere around Hilton Head Island are getting to be way too pricey for the kind of courses that are there.
Suggestions
The ground in the tee boxes was so hard we had difficulty inserting our tees, even broke a few trying!
The edges of the sand traps could use a bit of grooming- they were kind of rough
The water thermos at the bathroom stop by (hole 16?) was empty! And so was my water cup!
The cart paths are in awful shape- extremely bumpy and broken up.
Many of the greens need a bit of work. These issues seem to be present in varying degrees at most area golf courses
The carts are very nice as is the layout of the course. We enjoyed it as much as many of the other courses we've played in the area
Ok for the price
Cutting back on course maintenance to maintain a low price point. Played Crescent point the next day, which has a similar model, but a better layout.
Good course to play with frienda
Nice layout and friendly staff. Good course to play with friends
Overall good day on the course. Pace of play was poor with no marshal around to have a foursome let three different groups of two through the entire round.
Golf ball washers need water… some have no water while others smell terribly.
Greens were good….
Range is good
wasaga
Believe it or not, the course seemed better from a week and half ago. Fairways and greens are fair to good. course is a great layout. For $30 on a hot deal, its a steal.
Potential to be really good
Course overall was in good shape. But the fairways were abnormally thick and tall. Almost like the rough should be. Which made for a tough round. Never rewarded for a good drive because of how thick the fairways were. Also you will need a reallignment after driving on the cart path. The entire path is tore up with roots growing under and potholes. Outside of those two things the course is in decent shape. I would play it again.
Course is coming around
The course has just about completely recovered from the hurricane a few years ago. It is the best I have seen it n 5 years.
Some chunks out of the greens. Fairways are fully grassed n but not real consistent.
It was Saturday morning, course was full but 4some ahead of us had a beginner golfer — made for a 5 hour round.
