The 18-hole Old South Golf Links in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1991. Designed by Clyde Johnston, Old South Golf Links measures 6,772 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 129 and a 72.4 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.

Johnston designed Old South Golf Links in keeping with the beautiful Lowcountry's natural landscape. "Old South Golf Links was designed not only to provide an enjoyable yet challenging golf game, but also to preserve the natural beauty of the land," he said. "I felt that this was an opportunity to allow the golfer to experience up close the uniqueness of the site, its natural amenities and spectacular views."

The variety of the setting from oak forest to open pasture to tidal salt marsh, provided an opportunity to vary the design elements and strategy of play.

Old South Golf Links is open to the public seven days a week. There is a clubhouse, restaurant and full-line pro shop on site.

9 holes were aerated that morning without warning. Rangers constantly coming by yet it was a slow round , possibly caused by cart path only.

Aerification was planned for 8/6 & 8/9 but unfortunately Hurricane Debby showed up those days. Our maintenance crew had to complete aerification whenever they were able. We regret Mother Nature didn't cooperate for your ryound.

Nice course with unique layout and friendly staff and fair price

Was able to get a Hot Deal which was a great value. Hurricane Debby had just dumped quite a bit of water in the course, but was nice to find one open and playable. Cart path only is not ideal, but understandable. Course had 4 green aerated, but rest were in good shape. Overall a few quirky holes, where you had to go PW-PW on a par 4 across land and water, but fun overall. 7-9 were very picturesque holes. Good value for the price and circumstances.

A quick getaway to see Hilton head and a little R&R. Decided to play a round with son in law. We started off on hole 10 which kept the pace moving. We actually played through a 4some that was playing army ball. Course was perfect and very forgiving. Just a little buggy otherwise a super nice course and will play again.

Greatest Value in Hilton Head Area

I would put this course up against any of the others in HH in terms of value. Little crowded early but rangers keep the course moving. Conditions were great, food was great, range was great, layout was great. Only minus was pace of play.

Great course. Very well maintained. Extremely friendly staff parking lot attendants, clubhouse staff, starters and marshalls. Everyone made us feel welcome. Will definitely return on my next trip to HHI.
