The 18-hole Old South Golf Links in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1991. Designed by Clyde Johnston, Old South Golf Links measures 6,772 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 129 and a 72.4 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.

Johnston designed Old South Golf Links in keeping with the beautiful Lowcountry's natural landscape. "Old South Golf Links was designed not only to provide an enjoyable yet challenging golf game, but also to preserve the natural beauty of the land," he said. "I felt that this was an opportunity to allow the golfer to experience up close the uniqueness of the site, its natural amenities and spectacular views."

The variety of the setting from oak forest to open pasture to tidal salt marsh, provided an opportunity to vary the design elements and strategy of play.

Old South Golf Links is open to the public seven days a week. There is a clubhouse, restaurant and full-line pro shop on site.

This course is shorter but so much fun. Lots of hard dog legs that make you consider shots. Course in great condition. Great views of the low country !Lots of fun

Nice grass tees fairways and greens but the greens putt slowly with little break and character to them

The pace of play was awful slow

Starter points you to first tee and no

ranger to speed slow players up anywhere

Had to wait at every shot tee to green

We found the course to be funky and unusual with some very interesting hole layouts.

Greens were immaculate but slow. Fairways were nice for the time of year.

Worth the replay

Played this course twice during our trip into this area.

Easy to access and close to many other spots( shopping, food, etc) but you would not guess that once your on the course. Great range and course conditions for early year ( played early March 2026) .

Would like the prices to be a little lower for course conditions that are exactly perfect this time of year ( fairway growth and greens that are on their way to perfect) other wise would recommend!

Great course for the value

Old South is a regular stop when we're in Hilton Head. The price and availability are attractive. The course itself is very good. The greens are on the small side, and in excellent condition right now. The staff is very friendly. We teed off at 9:30 and played in 4 hours, a real plus.

1st time playing. Fun layout. Tees, fairways and greens in nice condition. Staff very friendly. Issue was pace of play. 5 hrs 20 minutes -teed off at 12:20.

A group on every tee in front of us. No Marshall anywhere addressing pace of play. Turned a fun course into a frustrating day. Will give it another try but not Fridays.
