I found my best course in Tucson now
There's not a bad thing I can say the course was in excellent condition the very friendly as starter I've ever met Armando I didn't get the lady's name in the Pro Shop but she was very helpful as we got lost trying to get there she gave us directions overall the best course in Tucson enjoyed my day
Silverbell
Since the weather was cold/rainy, the course was wide open which was great, since the weather became good quickly. The greens were in great shape and the fairways were also in top shape. I got a very good "Hot Deal" so the entire experience was fantastic.
This is not my favorite course in Tucson, but it is always a good and challenging time.
Good value
Friendly staff and a windy day made for a pretty fast round as there were not a lot of golfers out. Course was a little dry and bunkers were mostly hard packed sand/mud, but not too bad otherwise. Greens were in good shape. I paid $40 including tax and a cart, so for the money, it was a pretty good deal.
Good value at $19.00. Friendly staff.
Greens, fairways, and cart paths were in good condition. Only negative was that the bunkers had virtually no sand. Fix this and the course becomes a four rating. Also, Silverbells has an excellent practise facility superior a great many non-municipal courses.
a bargain
I hadn't played Silverbell for a while and I was pleasantly surprised. We got off on time and played our round in four hours, with no long waits at any tee. The fairways and greens were in good, if not outstanding condition, no worse than many of the surrounding courses, and better than many. I played off the whites, which suited my handicap, although I found a few holes quite long. I didn't use it, but the food cart came around about four times over the eighteen holes. Although I rode, I've walked other times and can attest that the course is very walkable. Like other Tucson public courses, Silverbell has helpers who rush to load and unload your cart. They seem unnecessary and inappropriate to me.
Day in the dessert
Down from the NW for some sun. Played with a wonderful couple from Illinois. A little slow but we were in no hurry. A couple of times it was not obvious where the next hole was. Could use more yardage markers.
Staff was wonderful
Will definitely play again.
great condition
o.b. sports has done a great job with this course, the greens and fairways were beautiful, staff was great and helpful, the only bad part was the foursome in front of us were super slow. got dark on us at the 17th hole
Took 3 hour to play 9 holes
course was so backed up we could only play 9 holes after paying for 18. Wanted to talk to the person in the pro shop when we finished. He was in there with a locked door and would not talk with us. Do not want to golf this course again!!!
Horrible experience.
The course was in bad shape. The greens were bumpy, the sand traps were full of water, the pace was painfully slow & staff were visibly having a bad day.
Break into a line
When we finished the 14th hole and moved to the white tee box of the15th hole , three young guys suddenly broke into the line and played at the yellow tee box of the15th hole without any excuse. Besides, they played very slowly even though it was by sunset.
Since then, we were very unhappy.
Bomb away
Don't rely on GPS takes you back of course Wide open fairways, some middle fairway bunkers to be aware. No sand in bunkers and water, need to address this with drainage possibly French drains. Fairways to green excellent coverage. Some greens look like they have chemical burn lines, otherwise they roll nice. Third time playing, first time no wind and it plays easy without it blowing. Nice open track with excellent value.
Good time!
I really enjoy all of the employees attitudes here. They also have a drive drink/food window at the back nine. They just opened from maintenance. Looks great!
Not worth it for non residents
Played as part of our vacation, by far the worst kept course I've played at in years. Was told it was because of 2 days of rain storms... We played the 2 days previous and courses were beautifully kept. No signs of anyone working on the course except the ranger who was more interested in keeping everyone on the cart path than speeding up slow play.
Inexcusable
Pace of play ridiculous 2:40 to play front nine walked off because no golf course should tolerate this. Complained and told company does not care about this.
good before overseed
very good shape since play was just prior to overseed. short cur\t fairways but in good shape. pace of play was a little slow.
Good value
Greens a little rough but overall happy with course.
