Overall good condition, the traps could use some tlc.
Was very windy which made it very challenging on the holes near water
Break into a line
When we finished the 14th hole and moved to the white tee box of the15th hole , three young guys suddenly broke into the line and played at the yellow tee box of the15th hole without any excuse. Besides, they played very slowly even though it was by sunset.
Since then, we were very unhappy.
Bomb away
Don't rely on GPS takes you back of course Wide open fairways, some middle fairway bunkers to be aware. No sand in bunkers and water, need to address this with drainage possibly French drains. Fairways to green excellent coverage. Some greens look like they have chemical burn lines, otherwise they roll nice. Third time playing, first time no wind and it plays easy without it blowing. Nice open track with excellent value.
Good time!
I really enjoy all of the employees attitudes here. They also have a drive drink/food window at the back nine. They just opened from maintenance. Looks great!
Not worth it for non residents
Played as part of our vacation, by far the worst kept course I've played at in years. Was told it was because of 2 days of rain storms... We played the 2 days previous and courses were beautifully kept. No signs of anyone working on the course except the ranger who was more interested in keeping everyone on the cart path than speeding up slow play.
Inexcusable
Pace of play ridiculous 2:40 to play front nine walked off because no golf course should tolerate this. Complained and told company does not care about this.
good before overseed
very good shape since play was just prior to overseed. short cur\t fairways but in good shape. pace of play was a little slow.
Good value
Greens a little rough but overall happy with course.
greens were half brown
Labor Day...slow play as one would expect on a muni...over 5 hours....fairways and tee boxes were fine, but the greens were terrible. For $21. plus tax , it was a good value, if you don't mind having to putt with a hockey stick.
Good value, non pretentious golf for everyday people
OB has stepped up the value of playing silverbell through improved turf management and overall professionalism of staff that are inviting and are equally excited about golf!
First time
A lot of standing stagnate water and VERY rough cart paths. Greens rough. A good short game practice course.
Nice
This is my second time playing this course, The greens were very slow as if they may have been under repair but it was still a good round.
Silbell in the Summer
Just played the course. Of course, it's hot in Tucson. The course was generally in good condition. However, some of the greens were great and others were not. Due to the recent rains, many for the sand traps were pools of water too deep to see the ball in them.
Very Disappointed
After two years of not playing this course, we decided to give it another shot. Well, it might be that long or longer before play there again. The fairways appeared not to be cut in a couple days, the rough was inconsistent at best and the greens looked like someone lit them on fire and did not repair them. Please avoid this course if you are a serious golfer!
fair
Greens had been punched. All tee boxes were excellent. Balls hit onto green had action. Pace on play awesome. Traps need some work.
Good, pleasant experience
I haven't played Silverbell in 3 years back then it wasnt very good, several friends had encouraged me to play there again because it had improved, I took their advice and I was not disappointed, everything from the staff to the course had done a 180 degree turn for the better, I was very pleased and will be returning to Silverbell again adding them to my weekly rotation of golf courses.
Worst Course In Tucson
I played here last Sunday (June 7th). I don't mind a rough around the edges course, but this was a whole new level.
Here is the list:
- Super rude staff
- Tee boxes are awful
- Fairways are soggy
- Fairways smell like sewage
- Sandy potholes in the fairways
- Sand traps filled with water
- Sand traps are concrete hard
- Greens have bare spots
- Greens are sandy
- Greens are awful
- Areas around the fairways are dead super ugly
I would call this course the worst in Tucson, hands down.
Don't even think about wasting your money here. Go play somewhere else.
Great Public Course
What a nice course! Tee to green was really nice. Not much to look at off the fairway, but the course itself was in great shape.
Always good
This is course is always fun. Right now it is in great shape! They have new sand in the bunkers and it is nice. Awesome course!
GOOD TIMES
