Dos Osos Golf Club

About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Not open
This course is closed. They are still on the GolfNow website and took my money now fault or their fault.
Certified Goat Track
This course is close to unplayable and even at a discount to others in the area it should be avoided. The tee boxes are destroyed, fairways completely overgrown that even good shots can’t be found, sand pits are all dry stiff dirt. Several areas of the course were flooded including cart tunnels you have to drive through and hope to keep your feet from getting wet. Unless you’ve played here before good lucky finding hole locations that are scattered haphazardly with no signage. Play somewhere else and you’ll have a much better afternoon for a few dollars extra.
Get what you pay for
Be happy you’re outside in some grass getting sun swinging clubs. If you have control over your ball, you won’t have any issues here, others who say “I can’t find my ball” are typical 100+ shooters. Once you have better control, then you’ll be able to find your ball in or near the fairway and then apply the rules everyone else does to give yourself relief if you have a tough lie due to course conditions
Worst
This is the worst golf course I have ever played. The conditions were terrible and you would lose your ball if it is not in the middle of the fairway.
Stop the hate
By now, everyone knows the rough shape Eagle Crest is in but they are now trying. New ownership and money will help bring it back to life, I’m sure of it. Got my round on a hot deal, always worth it. It was wide open until the back 9 then it got backed up. Only highly recommend a bit more organization for grouping others to keep the course naturally flowing. Oh and a ton of flowing water right now
Over Grown Goat Tracks
The Ruff was knee high in most places, fairway were dry with lots of large dirt patches, most of the traps in the fair way were over grown with vegetation. This could be an amazing course if the grass was cut the ruff was maintained and golfer were not spend most of their time hunting for a ball in ankle high fairway ruff. ad for the fact its a public course in a private community i would expect it to be better taken care of. very run down, most of the water hazards were drained and overgrown with brush, Driving range was closed and this is to be determined it was just ran down. if you play here bring a ball tracker, long pants are a must ad watch for rattlesnakes, those are not gopher holes in the fairway.
This corse needs attention
Course conditions were terrible, roughs were knee high, fairways were like roughs should have beens
Needs help
Overall the track used to be fantastic. Used to play this course a lot in the mid 2000's it used to be in great shape. The last time I played it the fairways were basically dirt, I figured with all the rain lately it would have came back, well it did and they forgot how to mow it. A very simple task just cut the grass. I lost 6 balls due to the rough just off the fairway was at least 4-6 inches deep of weeds and clover like succulents. The funny thing is the shop person even told us regulars walked off the course due to the long conditions. The greens were super furry as if they were mowed 4 days ago, the fairways had the same problems. I heard a new owner is coming in and that JC golf was going to manage it, the problem there is sometimes JC doesn't care about some courses. I really hope the new owners figure it out because it's a great track when kept up.
In process of ownership change
Its a great place to play, but in bad condition right now. If youre off fairway 2ft, youll not find your ball as the weeds are tall and thick. ONLY the fairways and greens being mowed right now. Theyve had damages from the recent storms and getting around the course is tricky. The greens are furry, and I was short on so many puts heading right to the hole. I think I lost 5 strokes on putts dead on, but 6" short. .
All in all, it was a GREAT day of golf fun, for ONLY $25.00
Not as bad as reviews make it
Thought I was going to play a dirt course based off of reviews, but it was honestly a fine course and good time
Are we seriously calling this a golf course?
Where do I start? 1 person working in the place who didnt give any direction to the 1st tee after paying. Carts still had the names of plyers from a prev tournament held there? The divot containers on the cart were empty, no water jugs at any of the holes, tunnels to drive thru were flooded, signs to 1st hoke and 10th hole non existent, fairways were a joke…not cut or manicured, fairways overgrown and neglected. Bad bad bad, clubhouse is dilapidated. Overall bad choice of a course. Should have at least been given direction from the guy at the check in on how to navigate to 1st hoke and give heads up of flooded tunnels. Will never return to this course. They have totally neglected the upkeep of this course no mayyer how much was paid to play here. 3 thumbs down
