Dos Osos Golf Club
About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Course conditions
I was looking forward to playing golf since its been a while, the first tee was a good drive, went to where I thought it would be, grass was so thick and weeds all over. The grass in the fairways to thick to even see your ball. As I continued on it got worse I lost a lot of golf balls that day, only because it was poorly maintained.I don't think I will ever play it again until they at least give it a good haircut...very disappointed!!!
Course is in rough condition
I can recommend the course for the price, but there are some things to know before you play.
I played the blue tees, and most of the tee boxes were in rough shape. Some hadn't been mowed in some time, and most were full of slopes and holes making it difficult to find a good place to tee up. Some of the fairways have large bald spots with hard dirt, and others have 6" deep clover in what should be the first cut of rough. (Good luck finding your ball.) Some of the sand traps are in need of repair and new sand. Greens were okay, but a bit slow paced for me.
The layout is pretty good, and the course has potential, but it's just not quite in the shape it should be. If you don't mind these maintenance issues, enjoy.
Course has great potential but I lost more balls in fair play (not hit out of boundaries / off course fairways) due to extremely unkept greens / rough / fairway conditions. This has not happened since Cottonwood Lakes! Lol. Staff was nice. Played through a dead cart on 11, I believe so maybe they have staffing shortages.
Hope to play after grounds are landscaped extensively because course vistas are amazing.
Gate code should be texted / emailed with gate code for residential neighborhood access or at least notified to call day of tee time.
Friendly staff beautiful course
Enjoyed playing this course you get what you pay for with the fairway fans greens for the most part. Staff is really friendly. Just know if you have a rider there is a 20 dollar fee! Good job overall.
The greens are in great condition, but overall the course was in poor condition. The rough is overgrown with weeds that made it easy to lose a ball that wasn't that far off the fairway. The fairways and green aprons needed mowing badly.
I like this course but it is not being maintained. Tee boxes are overgrown and rundown. You cannot tell the fairway from the rough. In some places the rough was over 3 feet.
It's not what it used to be.
Good bang for the buck
Very friendly stall great course layout, need attention to course maintenance lots of clumps, of grass, weeds, and bare dirt spots, bunkers were hard as dirt car patch with grass and weeds growing in them. With some TLC this could be a 4 to 5 star place to play.
Sincerely,
John Batis
Greens excellent, fairways untidy
This course could be a really pretty course with just a bit of simple maintenance to the fairways. They clearly hadn't been cut for some time. That said, the greens were excellent. Both true and holding. The layout is interesting and needs some precision in places. Shop staff were friendly and on hand. Practice green was also great quality and representative of the course greens.
Cool layout that needs some TLC
This course desperately needs better landscaping, even hitting off the tee boxes and fairways was sporty.
could be good
The fairways were in bad shape, but the greens were ok..
The setting for this course is scenic and with a redo of fairways, this could be a great course.
Hope new management helps this place out
Eagle Crest used to be one of the better courses in San Diego. Sadly, those days are gone. The course is in pretty bad shape. Very spotty fairways, rough needs to be cut and greens were so slow and needed to be mowed. Luckily I was paired with 2 guys that were fun. Hopefully Troon can bring this place back to life.
Impressed - Not in a Good Way
Cow Pasture golf at its finest. This used to be such a great course, but the last few years, it seems to have had less and less maintenance. The tee boxes were in terrible condition; the bunkers and traps were wildly variable, from a little sandy to no sand at all; and it is absolutely overrun with ground squirrels. The two saving graces were the friendliness of the staff and the conditions of greens - very good and fairly consistent. I don't plan to go back (at least for a couple of years and lots of good reviews).
Just don’t get stuck behind the old guys
Course was in ok condition. Four older guys were in front of my threesome. Despite waiting on every shot, they never let us pass. After 4 hours and completing 14 holes, I had to leave. No Marshall to be found. To take that long and not wave us up is ludicrous for the price. Tons of dirt patches in the fairway. Greens were slow but rolled ok. Some bumps on the back 5 I played. I will go again because I like the layout but I hope I don’t see those slow old regulars. No idea how slow they were
Nice views but course needs work
Course has potential to be one of the nicest courses in San Diego but is not maintained very well. Lot of squirrels and snake holes everywhere with sand pits not even being sand but more like concrete. Still had fun playing there but could use a lot of work but has some great views for sure!
This course has a great layout.
This is a Hidden Gem I love the layout of this course it is very challenging beautiful scenery the greens are in great shape I definitely recommend playing this course I play this course all the time and I love it.
