About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Golfer Reviews
No good condition course.
I was very disappointed that there was no good golf course management. It is disappointment to get a player like this condition.
Thank you so much for your review. We value your feedback, and use it to improve our guests experience.
Bottom of the list
If you like playing on dirt patches . If it wasn't for golf now discount, would have been really oissed about spending money on this course. Have fun getting through the gates.

Just not in good shape
Best thing about this course was the staff. Super friendly and accommodating. Being that the course was not in good shape. A not insignificant about of the time I wasn't sure if I was in fairway or rough in a place that ideally would be fairway. Tons of dead areas all around the course. Greens had a lot of ball marks not repaired. Layout wasn't bad and the scenery was pretty good but overall the actual golf course left much to be desired. Unlikely to play again.
Thank you so much for your review. We will continue working on improving the conditions. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
I always have fun here.
I really like this course. I was warned that there are lots of bees, I have yet to experience that. I love the layout, and the many obstacles/hazards. I truly have fun every time I play here.

Course update
I'm pleased to report that they were able to get their poor green situation handled. Having good greens is most important. I can live with dried out fairways but not poor greens. I didn't want to strike this course off my playlist so I'm happy they resolved their problem!
Thank you so much for your updated review. We listen to our guests and will continue working to provide you a great experience. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.

One last thing
The pictures displayed of the course are completely deceitful. They were probably taken over 20 years ago. I can certainly say it looked like that in the 90's. The course is a far cry from when the course looked that great. I would be upset if I set up a tee time thinking that's what the course looked like. They should have some integrity and display the course how it actually looks. Shame on them!
Thank you for your comments. We will continue updating our images as you've suggested.
Fun course but...
I play Eagle Crest a lot and it's apparent since the Billy Casper Company took over the course has gotten worse. Today when I played, the greens were horrible. Actually, the worst greens I've played on in the last 40 years of playing golf and certainly the worst shape I've ever seen at Eagle Crest. When did they last mow the greens? On Sunday? Rolling 8 on the stimpmeter is pathetic with the ball bouncing all over the place. Unless I hit it 2 feet from the hole, making a putt is a fruitless endeavor. When I first started playing the course in 1993 it was beautiful at that time. Sadly it's nowhere close to its original shape. I enjoy every hole on the course but it appears whoever is setting up the course each day has no idea how to position tees or pin placements. You cannot call the bunkers sand traps as they are really dirt traps with rocks in them. Then the ones with actual sand have too much sand. I would like to know...does the Superintendent ever really look around the course? Overwatering around the greens creates a muddy mess. How about putting some of that precious water on the fairways instead? Overhanging poison oak on 18 and driving to 1 and 10 is a clear lawsuit just waiting to happen. Are you trying to let the poison oak grow to the ground or what? I'm shocked at the simple maintenance that is overlooked. How about the hole on the cart path driving to 18? You filled it in months ago but now it's back. Really? I mean how often does the greens crew drive over that jarring rut on a daily basis with no thought that itself is a physical hazard? There has been a revolving door of employees over the course of just 1 year that's a clear sign that poor management is running the show. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the inexpensive green fees. The range balls are horrible but since I joined the PDP I won't complain since I get them free. But I would never pay $10 a bucket. I would go to the Vineyard if I had to do that as they have great range balls and a manicured range. The reason I don't just switch to the Vineyard is that I really believe Eagle Crest is a hidden little gem! I truly enjoy the golf course! If the owner can't get it together she should just sell the course to someone who cares about the product they put out. She obviously does not. Also, is there any possibility you can hire people who have actually swung a golf club and know something about course management and setup? That would be a nice change. Anyway, I could go on and on but I don't want to continue to complain as this has worn me out enough. Today, I guess was the straw that broke my camel's back so that's why I wrote this review. I hope there is some change and I will continue to support Eagle Crest because I love the course and atmosphere. One last thing...stop asking us to get the carts in with a half-hour of light still left. I've NEVER EVER played a course where they TELL you to get the carts in long before dark. That is a HUGE turnoff! If you can't afford to have employees stay until dark then maybe it is time to shut it all down. I'm paying to play not save you money because you want to shut the course down early. I've never experienced such nonsense. Also in the reviews, you say you are working on making the course better. How? I've seen nothing done since you took over. Maybe the Billy Casper Company is doing great but I wish I could say the same thing for Eagle Crest... because it's doing worse.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable comments on your recent experience at Eagle Crest Golf Course. These comments allow us to gain valuable information from our guest experiences in an effort to continue to improve service and conditions.
Billy Casper Golf has remained focused at Eagle Crest on improving course conditions as well as improving service levels on a daily basis. While some improvements do take time, we will continue to strive to remain committed to ensuring that Eagle Crest is a fun, friendly and affordable golf experience.
Eagle Crest Golf Course on a Hot Summer Day
The course is a really good layout, but needs a lot of help. It is extremely dry in a lot os places and the fairways while being of good width are also hard as
cement. And where they have watered, it has turned into
mud lakes. Furthermore there is really no one marshaling the course as it is very slow playing.
Thank you so much for your review. We value your feedback and will use your input to improve things that need to be worked on. We hope to earn your future business.
Wow things have changed
Played this course years ago before the housing development and really enjoyed it. Tough and tight but lush and tru. Now no grass in fairways and bunkers should be called hazards.
Thank you so much for your review. We value your feedback, and use it to improve our performance moving forward. Our current team has been on property for the last couple years and are committed to bringing the course back to it's original glory.
Good course for value
Played early tee time to avoid the heat. Only twosomes that time of the morning. Greens were in good shape. Fairways and ruff in rough shape due to summer heat. Still enjoyable to play.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
August visit
The greens are excellent and fairways pretty good - a little thin here and there. But would definitely play there again
Thank you so much for your 5 star review and kind words. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
