About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Course hurtin
Greens were ok but slow. Tee boxes and fairways pretty burnt, a lot of dirt vs grass. For the money there are many courses in better shape.
Dead fairways
Green we’re in good shape, but the rest of the course was dead. A lot of dirt, weeds, patchy crab grass on the fairways. Hard to fine good grass to hit off of. This was once a well manicured course, but water and maintenance has been missing for a while. We got a really hot price and won’t come back even at a lower one. Better coarses at a better price, a lot closer.

Course is a remote location from San Diego and not worth the drive. The layout is not inspiring. Greens were in reasonable shape but the rest of the course is more like a meadow. Would be better during winter but Vineyard in the same area is a much better choice.

Very Friendly staff . Course conditions are what you expect in summer, little brown in spots but overall pretty good. Greens are in excellent condition and putt true. Little disappointed the waterfall was not working on the Sig hole

Great and Horrible at the same time
Great:
Got out early finished in less than 3 hours
Greens were nearly perfect
Price was nearly free
Horrible:
The worst fairways I have ever played
Traps were mud or brick
Weeds and hard pan dirt everywhere- especially on perfect drives!
The layout would be tricky and target golf challenging - except the unplayable fairways make that nearly impossible.
Play for the price and the greens, but don’t complain you were not warned!

Won’t see us back
Showed up about 45 minutes before our Tee-Time, got some range balls to hit. When it was time to Tee off we were ready on the Tee. A staff member drives up and hassled us about how he thought we already played the front 9 and we need to head to the back 9. Continued this conversation for about 5 minutes until he knew he was wrong, then just drove off without saying a word. Pace of play was very slow as it took us 5 1/2 hours to finish 18 and a group of 4 behind us yelling at us as if it was our fault for waiting on the group in front of us. Will not be back to Eagle Crest.

I am sorry that you had that experience here at Eagle Crest that is NOT typical of our staff. We always encourage people to call the golf shop no matter what course they play if they encounter slow play and let the staff alleviate slow play issues.
I hope that you will give us another chance.
Awesome course to play
I choose Eagle Crest because it’s a halfway meeting point for my friend and I. We started playing here last year and I am truthful on saying this course has improved 100% within a year. The greens are super nice and the staff are very accommodating. I play here twice a month and there’s no other reason for me to switch courses. Thank you Eaglecrest for making golf fun and inexpensive again.

Greens are in excellent shape course is very tight definitely need a straight ball.however 41/2 hours to play 14 holes unacceptable did not finish last 4 holes.its on my no list

Nothing Special but getting better...
The greens were in fantastic shape, except for a few spots along the edges. Fairways need help, bunkers are like concrete. Hope they can continue to improve because the layout is fun. Way under staffed. Great value though.

eagle has landed
amenities on course are in bad shape. deferred maintenance is obvious. carts are below average. tees rough. fairways are good, but bad in spots. the greens however are absolutely perfect, soft and lush. cart paths are ok, but broken up here and there. sand traps are hard, not soft. overall, the layout is really nice. but i have a hunch that BK is near or has already happened. too bad, the course has great potential. it suffers from heat in the summer and a hard to get to location. but best greens i have played in a long time better than Torrey! and there are water holes! try it.

Great greens
Some fairways need some work, a hand full of bear spots. The greens are in pretty good shape, bring your A game for the greens.

Much improved from a year ago
The course was in much better condition than a year ago. Fairways were well groomed and in great condition. Greens were smooth and consistent and held the shots well. Staff was great.

Great outing
The course its in great condition is playing at its very best. Greens are very true maybe a bit in the fast side but very good shape.is a definite must play. We enjoyed the round very much although I wasn't playing my best.enjoyed the day out a whole lot
