If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Always coming back
I’ve been coming out here at this course for the past 2 years and it’s obvious that I love this course.. first the staff is the friendliest you’ll meet and not that fake friendly which is easy to see through.. anyways the course plays consistent every time from the fairways to the PGA style greens.. always a fun round and experience .. keep it up..
Big Rock
Second time I have played this course. No real complaints. Great setting and good amenities. GPS on the carts too. Bit of ducking and diving across roadwAys and through tunnels as the course winds it way through residential settings
Would definitely recommend you give it a try. I will certainly be back
Oh and the theme pub at the clubhouse is very unique!!
Always a good course
A nice mid week round solo. Made it in about 3:20. Course in good condition for late summer. Bunkers were understandably hard packed following an inch of rain last week. Carts have ice and GPS.
This course never disappoints
I play this course when I’m out here most of the time, mainly because the upkeep of the course is always consistent.. the greens are always in excellent shape even when they micro punch them .. a really fun place to play and the staff is the friendliest you’ll find out here ..
Great Course!
Played from the Gold tees. Good challenge from the tips, especially the par 3s.
Had the course to myself
Being July and a later tee time I was able to finish a round in about 2 1/2 hours then hit the pool to cool off.
bang for the buck
I played four times late June- early July. I also played an exclusive private club with highly lauded greens in Coachella Valley at the same time and Indian Springs Greens were in better shape. I played as fast as could get to the ball after the tee shot.
