If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Course conditions
Course always seems to be in very good condition, great 19th hole!
Big Rock
Fun course, large fairways, little brown in spots but that’s expected this time of year. Greens in good shape. Beer ,wings and fries after.
Loved this course EXCEPT the sand traps!
Very nice course in great shape for this time of year. The only real negative was the sand traps. Though they looked like good sand, most of them had a hard crust on the surface. Unfortunately, I landed in several traps and one of them was so hard, my SW bounced off the crust and made me skull the shot even though I had the SW laid open and tried to slide the head under the ball about 3 inches behind it! Having said that...my overall experience here was awesome. Fairways were mostly in great condition. The greens were very fast, consistent and challenging. Most putts had breaks of at least 4 - 6 inches from 10 feet away. The staff was great and the pace of play (teeing off at 11:30 AM) was awesome. Even as a single, I never had to wait. At $32 on GolfNow.com it was a great value and I will be back!!!
Too easy from the white tees
Great deal for $32 each on a Friday noon. White tees are shorter than most courses. Just keep it straight and you’ll be fine. Rough isn’t an issue. Greens roll true.

Golf Not
Course is nice - played it prior. Yanked my back out and tried to cancel but finding a human at Golf Now - is Golf Not.
Nice Course
Good value relative to other local courses. Greens were in excellent condition. Course in good condition.
