But you have to pay for range balls.

Lived down the street for years but never played. Open and nice layout, pace was pretty slow for sure. If your looking for a challenge, this is not it, but if you’re looking for a nice course that you can grip and rip, it’s here.

I played with another single behind a threesome that was very slow and there were at least three partial groups (twosomes, I believe) behind us. We felt sandwiched in and rushed only to wait for every shot. The starter should have insisted that the groups combine so that we had foursomes instead of twosomes. We called for a marshal but one never arrived. As a result the round was so frustrating it was difficult to enjoy.

The course is a great course, wide open fairways and is definitely playable by average to great players. There was a group of men in front of us which held us up, (as well the two groups behind us), almost every hole. This isn’t a usual occurrence in my experience. How many times do you have to measure your putt!?

Directions (or lack thereof) to the next hole are confusing for first timers, more signage would help. No refreshment cart the day we played and getting drinks or food at the turn also not as easy as it could be. That said it’s a fun unpretentious venue, a good course layout, wide fairways, greens are in good shape and run true. At $79 for afternoon tee times it’s a great deal for the desert this time of year, and the bar/restaurant atmosphere is hard to beat, a great place to take guests; the pub burger was outstanding.

Second time playing at Big Rock with our group of ladies. Price was fair for high season desert golf. We enjoy the course, layout, and pace of play. The staff is very friendly. Great place for a drink and food after a round.

Greens were firm and kind of slow for my taste. Course has very generous fairways.

The combo of wind and lakes caused a few of my balls to be swallowed up. Super windy day. Course was pretty challenging for me, anyway. But the fairways and greens were in pretty good shape! Good job! The starter appeared to have had a rough morning, but we got him loosened up and got him to smile.
