Indian Springs Golf Club
About
If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Rockin Big
My favorite course in the Palm Springs area. Tees to support my age (nearly 80.) Course seems to fit my eye.The clubhouse is really entertaining for after round libations and dinner on the deck is great.
Great course
The course was in fantastic shape and the greens rolled true!
Great course
Fun course to play. Bar/Grill was fun as well. Enjoyable experience.
Brutal pace of play
Round took five hours, was told afterwards there was a bachelor party with six groups that caused the backup. The course itself was fine but the experience was terrible unfortunately.
Very fair for mid & high handicap golfers too
My wife and I really enjoyed our game there. The course is fairly laid out and the greens are very approachable. The fairways are wide and the rough is very manageable, so there won’t be much time spent looking for lost balls. The greens are fast and fun. We’ll play again next time in town.
Enjoyed the day
Overall our golf experience was enjoyable. The pace of play was slow as the round was played in 4 hours and 40 minutes. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the 19th hole with dinner in the restaurant.
Just OK
Prices are high for mediocre courses. Port a potty at the first hole should have heen embarrassingly disgusting but the starter was like, meh.
Course in OK condition. Greens good. Lacking in the details. It's hard to recommend when other courses in price point are better overall experience.
To much money
When you pay $100 plus for a round usually range balls are included. The course takes a bit of a twist where you have to go across a major street to play 3 holes in considerably worse shape then the rest of the course. The rest of the course is great and in nice shape.and some really pretty holes.
Big Rock Golf Course at Indian Springs.
I have played the course before and this round was the first time this year. I always enjoyed Big Rock and today was no different. The course was in great condition and the greens were running about right. I have to say some of the pin placements seemed to be on a crest, so if you were putting on the downhill side, it's either in the hole or it's gone. Still, I loved the challenge, lots of defined breaks that were fun if you read them correctly. The pace of play was very good, just about 4 hours. Big Rock is fairly forgiving and if you stray from the fairway, you aren't penalized severely most of the time. I think it's one of the nicest golf courses in the Desert and fairly priced. The restaurant is also excellent if you want to eat or have a drink after your round. I will be returning very soon for another round.
Slugger
This is a nice course but very unusual layout crossing many streets. The condition was good with fairways and greens is good shape but rough dormant Bermuda. Pace of play was good. Restaurant and bar operation was a nice amenity.
